Cybertruck $100k trade in glitch

So, after that Tesla glitch offered $100k trade-ins for Cybertrucks, I checked mine, $84.100!

Decided to sell anyway, stripped off the three-M wrap and PPF, which took a solid eight hours. Total pain, but worth it!

Originally paid a hundred thousand for my all-wheel-drive Foundation Series, and now I’m getting $69,900 plus $8k full self-driving transfer-a sweet $77,900 trade deal!

The T-Sportline wrap was awesome, took sixteen hours to install, eight to remove, but my truck’s ready for its next adventure. Probably find a beast now to replace it. So many out there already wrapped for penny’s on the $120k FS price tag!

Now I’m pumped to snag a 2025 Model X for my wife at a killer discount, with full self-driving to boot. Who else is flipping their Cybertruck for a new ride?

What was your actual trade in offer from Tesla?

I do believe you’re right. No transfers from FS CTs or LS MYs.

We just traded in our Foundation Series AWD and we were able to transfer FSD to the Model Y we got. It had to be done manually by Tesla’s “back office”. We filled out a form (Full Self Driving - Supervised Transfer Agreement) with the VIN of the CT and the VIN of the new Model Y. By the time we got home the FSD trial was replaced with full on FSD.

Just my opinion, but this isn’t really a flip. You’ve lost money/value. IMO a flip is selling something for more than you paid for it. Like buying a Rolex Daytona for $14K from and AD and selling it for $24K (Don’t do this btw )

When we placed the order for the Model Y, I sent a message via the app confirming that I’d be able to transfer FSD from the CT as this was a condition of going through with the trade in. They said yes and sent me the form I mentioned. Once I was assigned a VIN I sent the form back via chat and got confirmation that it would be transferred. Finally, before taking delivery I confirmed that FSD would be transferred. I was told by the delivery agent that they had already started the process and it could take up to 48 hours to complete. Didn’t take that long at all.

We thought we’d have to take our wrap off as well. When we sent the pictures of the truck for final trade in, we didn’t get any pushback. The trade in estimate did not change.

I know right. Well, in all fairness, I’m not in the mood to get another CT just yet. I wish the family was more into off roading it. No point in having it sit around my garage taking up space. I’ll probably regret it later, but for now, want the space.
