Facts. 100%. The way it likes to hug the left side of the lane sometimes is down right scary. I truly believe non-of the Tesla engineers own a Cybertruck with FSD. If someone did they would see how poorly it does in that regards.
They don't need to; they have access to all of the Cybertruck telemetry. They know it isn't better tuned yet than the other models.

This is what it means to be an early adopter.

FSD allows you to change your body posture (and thus, blood flow) much more so than if you are preoccupied with manually driving. Frequent posture shifting helps tremendously with road hypnosis, and drives up your overall 360 degree awareness.

I am never more aware and alert to things happening around me than when FSD is in control.
your perspective makes sense. Id be interested to see the studies published on FSD in the future.

If someone is drowsy or drifting out of a lane, and they engage FSD how will that help them stay more focused? I would imagine that it would have the opposite effect. Additionally, if a person is falling asleep, and FSD yells at them to “pay attention” then disengages, and gives them a strike then what?

In the early days of autopilot, there was a concept that if the car detected an emergency (unconscious driver) it could turn on hazards and pull the car over, and even call emergency services has anyone ever seen this in action?
this is probably going to be implemented for unsupervised FSD, where it would help.

Actually this is exactly my point… Why not have it suggest you pull over and rest..? …if it detects drowsiness…

Suggesting to keep driving, but with FSD (as perfect as it is…currently not) is not the ‘safest’ logic…
Most people wouldn't actually pull over and sleep, just because FSD suggested that. The safest thing for the vehicle to suggest is the one that results in the least accidents and deaths, taking all factors into consideration.

You know, I was wondering about this. (Approx. a week ago) I was falling asleep on way home after a 12 hour shift. I was surprised that FSD actually did not disengage. The blinker plus a lane change woke me... (scared me awake) The truck got me home safely!

That's nice until it kicks you out of FSD for falling asleep and you crash. Does anyone believe at some point we'll get unsupervised FSD for consumer cars? Obviously they will have the tech perfected soon and roll out the robotaxis, but are they actually going to take on liability for everyone else's FSD when they get into an accident?

Outside a time of large scale conflict, driving while exhausted is one of the leading causes of death for active duty military.

The issue with FSD is I get bored using it. When it is genuinely unsupervised and you can watch a movie while it drives, I will use it all the time. As-is, I use it < 5% of the time because I'd rather have something to do.

Interesting mine has been perf3ct after last few updates. Was really bad.
I wouldn’t say it’s perfect. But it is happening less and less. I do notice it happens more often when it’s windy. Not sure if FSD is confusing the force of the wind to applying torque to the wheel.

I predict a lawsuit soon…

first Tesla says you must be fully alert and ready to take over at all times while using FSD.. But now they are saying it’s ok to be drowsy and use FSD..

$0.02
where tf did they say "it's ok to be drowsy"? How did you arrive at this conclusion?

The same place FSD came from.. which there is currently legal proceedings taking..

it is about how the customers can/may/do interpret the message.
