Do you like the m3p better than the S plaid?
I can't speak to that knowledgably because I've only driven non-Plaid Model S's. But I can say I prefer the smaller, more nimble Model 3 to the regular Model S, just for it's smaller size. I never liked larger American sedans, I came from pickups and import sedans. Never liked SUVs either. I did own a Volvo S80 T-6 for a number of years, I liked it quite a bit but even that seemed a little too large at times.

Tesla's most under-rated car ever, IMO, is the RWD Long-Range 3. Not for it's mind-numbing performance or extreme luxury, which it definitely doesn't have, but for it's balanced handling, nimble feel and capability to travel fast and far, with minimal charging. Of course it's faster 0-60 than most muscle cars in the 1960's and 1970's! It even goes well in the snow and ice for a RWD car (even compared to any front wheel drive car I've driven). I'm not even sure they offer the Long-Range RWD 3 anymore (unless they recently brought it back).

Yeah. An amazing car and for a good price.
The standard is an even bigger accomplishment

I mean, you’re the expert here, but isn’t only illegal if you get caught?
I kid, I kid. No need to drive 20hrs and arrest me. Enjoy the beach.
Very true. Gotta get caught lol

Thank you sir. Kind to post. As an avid fan of Costco , it’s already in my garage.
Of course you already have the Christmas set to go with the Halloween set. Is there a Thanksgiving one?

Telling you guys. Bluey’s dad Bandit has it all figured out.
Abilisk, if you can truly let go of yourself enough to play balloon keepy-uppey with all your heart on the beach, I guarantee you’ll go home a brand new man.

@hemiarch I made the trip down to Starbase btw!

There’s a Starship and 2 Super Heavys out, and probably double the number of CTs we’ve ever seen online. I can now confirm they’re AWDs with Core wheels (some with covers, some without), and tactical grey decor.

Got a sweet camping site

I’m glad Tesla realizes this is Starbase. Apple doesn’t seem to yet 🤣

There it is. I figured we’d see an updated video soon. This is what I saw yesterday. Absolute crazy amount of CTs there now.

I have an AWD over 12K miles and have had a Cyberbeast loaner for a few days. I love the Beast the acceleration is amazing. But, I would not trade my AWD for it. My AWD is so quiet compared to the Beast and seems to ride a little better. I was kicking myself here and there about not getting the Beast but now I am actually very happy with my decision.

Now I just get to kick myself for trading in my Model Y when I got my truck. Never should have done that.

I fully agree. Same experience with a loaner. I took the loaner Beast for a couple 100 km drive for the day while my AWD was in service. The get up and go was great, but it was most noticeably better beyond 3 seconds, where the AWD begins to fade in comparison. I'm not missing that in my daily life.

However, I was shocked by the amount of noise this one produced. On the highway it sounded like the exhaust note of a 4 cylinder engine at around 3500 rpm. I mentioned it to the service manager when I returned, thinking the truck might have an issue. He laughed and said that was normal for the Beast and made a comment about it having taken Tesla a few years to get rid of similar noise in the X.

So not second guessing my purchase decision. The Beast is the right choice for many people, but not this guy.

Someone commented on the S compared to the 3. My S was an early dual motor 85D and the 3 was DM but not a Performance. On a twisty secondary highway, yeah, I might have been able to push the 3 faster, but not as confidently as the S. The S was super planted and the wider stance gave me more confidence than both my previous E Class and 7-series. Or Volvo 850 Turbo (that's going back a few years!). I absolutely loved a spirited drive in the 85D!

Yeah, I had the reverse experience that you guys are saying when I got a AWD as a loaner when my beast was in for service for the light bar. So quiet and no front wheel drive skipping over road perturbances.

I greatly prefer the feeling of a rear wheel drive bias also. But these are the prices that you pay when you have a need for speed. Same thing with the old model three performance versus the model three or any performance version of a BMW let’s say, you lose some amount of comfort when you have a tuning that’s designed for speed. Life is about trade-offs.
