Thanks for the sanity check.

1. Both service visits they’ve actually addressed this rattle. This last one they added tape and made it a lot worse but only because they didn’t have the parts. It’s the cheapest feeling part of the whole car imo. They’re supposed to fix it (again) in a couple weeks…

2. I saw this thread actually, I think for me it sounds like more than one clip which led me to think it’s the entire piece and it’s loose clips. I’ll take a look again though.
Regarding service appointments for the Cybertruck: I've owned mine since December 2024 and one thing I've noticed is the need for multiple service visits to get the service done right. The first time, I gave them the benefit of doubt since it's a new vehicle....but that is the fundamental issue to me: it's so new and there aren't that many (although over the past 6 months I feel there are more Cybertrucks being sold) that the service techs don't have a ton of experience working on them. I know it's an entirely new platform of a vehicle but it got tiring having to make 3 visits to get the wiper motor installed and calibrated correctly.

That said, given my last service experience about 2 weeks ago, it's A LOT better. They addressed everything correctly in one visit.

Agree about the stainless panel dent: highly doubt service did this (it'd have to take a major hit to dent it). The panels do have some waves as part of just how the panels are applied. Mine has something similar on the same driver side panel, and I brought it up at delivery but they said it's common. I only noticed it when I was looking at the panel at the right angle with the right lighting.

As for the rattling soudn in the dash, do a search on this site because I remember 2 people identified a rattle and, IIRC, the two different causes were:
  1. The plastic cover on the steering column (it's loose and should have a piece of foam on the bottom of it).
  2. Think another user said it was a clip in the dash or the plastic vent blade that was loose.
Both of the two above were resolved by the service center.
You just reminded me that I haven't heard that random rattle that my steering column plastic would make since I took two foam ear protection "Foamies" and put them in where they can't be seen but are still "pinched" in there.

I had a business card folded in there.

My foundation was fun too. Clips not fully pushed down. I had it on the sails down the too of the bed and if you opened up the tailgste the plastic on the left and right were not engaged. Tailgate alignment on passenger side out. Passenger cantrail way out but they said no way to adjust it yet.
windshield lamination issue. Distortions up high and an imperfection on the passenger side like a bump/scratch.
After cantrail recall it’s been about Aug-Nov trying to get the new ones right. They have more waves in them and I’ve been pretty upset about it.
I’ve kinda given up and just trash talk it now. “Fun house mirror on wheels”.

Worse when I mention it to friends and family I’ve referred and then I hear their horror stories with service. It’s crushing and I got a Little to use to thinking otherwise. I didn’t want that for them either.
This coupled with the small brained morons constantly harassing or worrying about vandalism is peak stupidity and it sits in the garage now. Model 3 is the main transport now lol.

I actually thought I had one of these windshield distortions right in my direct line of sight, but i cleaned the car and can't find it again lol.

How bad are the cantrails? Have you just given up?

Thankfully here in Texas no one even looks at the car.

Drivers side looks like it’s bent in a few spots. If you eye it the thing meanders a bit and don’t hold a straight line.
Alignment issues where it hits the fender. Either short or popped out so your rag snags it. The back are close like 95% but either pushed in a little or crooked.

I got routed up thru some CT Owners that got me a contact at Tesla. Going in to get these replaced so hopefully this can get tuned up. I went on a rip but it's been a rough year and directed a bit of my family medical fun at this situation at the same time. Now I've calmed own a bit. Booked a Mexican Cruise -on the mend.

Nice one!

Hopefully my Friday visit is the end of it for a while.

They’ll get it right if you ask. Seems like these panels are very unique to themselves. You can get one wavy, get one with gaps. It’s hopefully going to get better.

Service visit was mostly OK. The two main issues were fixed, but the cantrail "can't be adjusted further" and is "within spec..." Not sure if I care enough to fight this yet.

They also managed to create a new issue, now the cooled seat makes a ton of noise unless it's off. Feels like it's running full throttle and sounds like white noise. Nothing is obviously wrong that I can see. Hesitant to do another visit.

Front driver side, fender panel replaced because of what appeared to be a dent from the spot weld. It did a fantastic job and they replaced it and then micro sanded the entire driver side of the car to make sure all the steel panels blended in properly.

Thank you. I met with the service director and body shop manager at time of drop off and asked them respectfully to out their best tech on it.

when I picked it up two weeks later I asked what took so long.

Was told that they ordered five different fenders before they got one that was perfect.

This type of attention to quality control at the collision center is what it takes. Unfortunately they don’t have the time or resources to do this on every job.

squeaky wheel gets the grease I guess.

I am grateful for their help and outcome.
