I had the adhesive fail in three of my four doors. Tesla repaired the three doors (not replaced) last month and so far it’s been perfect. No rattle when closing or at highway speeds anymore. Might be worth utilizing the warranty If you still have it before going all in on a project yourself.

The main two ways for repairing it is either by replacing the door entirely or just stripping the door and reapplying an improved adhesive.

Many of the regular service centers are not qualified to do the repair and if possible they will refer you to a Tesla collision center for repair.

If no tesla collision center or qualified service centers are available in your area, they will opt to replace the door with a new one instead.

Seems like they are adding noise dampening pads to the door, a new replacement door doesn't have pads and will likely end up with the same situation.

If they are adding noise dampening pads for a door that is rattling because of adhesive failure, they are doing it wrong and not following Tesla’s own procedures for repairing it. The door adhesive failing is a structural failure and must be repaired/replaced to maintain integrity of the doors.

However, If the rattling is not because of an adhesive failure, then maybe whatever it is can be addressed with the pads.

But personally I would ask clarification on what they think the problem is and their proposed resolution. If they agree it’s adhesive failure, I’d tell them this is a common issue and it’s a structural failure that can’t be addressed with some foam pads.

If they refuse to fix it correctly, I’d escalate it until you find someone that will.

Has one one had the September 3rd repair bulletin used on their driver door yet? Curious if it is working.

They cancelled my appointment said they need to order the adhesive, and never rescheduled me... :(
Did the same to me - sent them a message in a different service ticket and they scheduled it after about a month.. they followed the revised bulletin. Picking it up today and will report back

There is a revised bulletin? I only have the one dated September 3 2025. SB-25-10-002

Please do let us know how it worked out for you.

Been meaning to provide an update on my service: had it done 2 weeks ago. They confirmed the rattle sound (in my service appt, I linked to the service bulletin even though mine is a 2024 model year) and they fixed it with butyl tape and "reworked the front left door assembly."

For some reason they had the repair listed as two line items on my invoice:
