I did a short test drive, only got up to 65 and did not notice any vibration. On top of that the cabin seems quieter but that may be placebo. I’ll do 100 tomorrow and give feedback
I did 1-2 ish layers of that stuff on my doors, not needed to do 2 but was in there so might as well. I notice the arm vibration is almost all gone, maybe a slight bit near 90 but that's it

I can concur with this. My leg doesn’t feel like I’m having a seizure anymore. Even at my usual coating of 75ish it’s reduced at least 90% if not more. At 90-100 it vibrates some but no where near to the point where you could basically hear it

Yeah I feel it makes the whole cabin feel more stable, having all 4 doors wobble at high speeds is
not great. I also recently had a car normal door apart and there was a huge bracket through the middle that was like glued to act as a reinforcement, not sure why they just got rid of any support

The video is very informative. One thing you wanna do different is, disconnect the fireman’s loop first then the mid voltage battery.

Can anyone confirm this will fix the vibration/buffeting at highway speed? I don't have the metal rattling sound when you bang it, but I have the vibration at highway speed. . . .

Yes. 95% of the way at least. But I have 24” wheels with mud tires. I’m sure on stock wheels it would be taken care of 100%. I also notice my side mirrors don’t shake anymore on the highway when going over 70 while it’s windy

Edit : to add to this , I don’t see my door wobbling anymore either while on the highway if I put my blinker on lol used to be able to see it pretty bad whenever switching lanes in the camera view while going fast

Tesla eliminated the horizontal crash beams in the doors as testing showed it was not required.

I think if they had included it no owners would be complaining. The crash beam would have stiffened up the outer door skin significantly.

I have 2 CT's and both have the weird 75-85MPH vibration on the drivers door mirror (yet, not passenger) - this is separate from the door internal rattle (fist bump test rattle) in which I had doors changed over on one CT. New doors does not fix the rattling driver side mirror.

I am guessing since almost everyone I have heard from says the left door vibrates / driver side mirror rattles @ speed (lean your left knee on door panel on the highway, betting you will feel the vibe @ speed) this is a deeper harmonics/aero issue.

One of my SC visits changed the driver side mirror for just the speed rattle, which it did not fix, and did state in notes that engineering is aware of the driver mirror rattle and is currently working on a solution.
Good to know engineering is aware of the driver side mirror being loose. Mine was loose at delivery, and thought it was just the mirror in the housing being loose but sounds like it’s all related to the bad glue or wobbling door panel.

I’m going to wait until I see ppl getting permanent fixes before scheduling a service appointment for this.

That's not for NVH, that's a side-impact brace. The outer skin on that door is paper-thin and useless in a collision.

The CT doors lack bracing and padding because "the best part is no part". They would probably be fine if that adhesive held up.

So many problems with the CT related to adhesives! I wonder if their supplier was giving them watered-down glue 🤔

Structural adhesive 2.0 to rescue. I wonder what date Tesla implemented the adhesive change on the assembly line.

Not gonna believe this... I adjusted my door striker about 1mm and aligned the driver door just tad better, and my highway vibration became less..... So it definitely has to do with the way wind and cross wind is causing it to vibrate.

Per service bulletin: Tesla techs should not exceed 36 butyl foil pads per door😁

I think Tesla installs 2 NVH pads per door at the factory.
