Seriously? That’s a service appointment? I mean…good on Tesla for offering it, but with a trim tool those take about 10 seconds to pop off and less time to line up the new ones and hammer them down with your fist.
Maybe 30 or so seconds if you’re being super careful and it’s your first time doing it.
I’d bet on them making that a mobile service if you schedule it.
So I might actually have an answer to this one. When my cantrail half flew off (ie my halloween contest photo) I asked the SC if I should remove it completely from the truck if I can before driving to my appointment. They told me it has very sharp edges and I can cut myself, so they wouldn't let me remove it - I don't see how this is safer than a flying blade hitting something on the highway at 70mph... But that was their logic, so maybe they don't want people tinkering around up there so they don't cut themselves.

They are just plastic trim with little doors in them that cover the side gutters on either side of the glass from the apex of the truck to the aeroflap.
those gutters each contain 4 bolts which are the mounts and those line up with where the little doors in the Palstic trim end up.
The trim piece that now comes from the factory is exactly the same but missing the little front doors.

I'm looking at getting the xkglow light bar. To me it looks the cleanest and molds to the shape of windshield like oem but does have a bracket that bolts down so dont have to worry about the glue on versions failing and coming off.

In my case, mobile service came and replaced in 5 minutes. The guy gave me the old trim pieces in case I need them in the future :)
