As some of you have previously seen I have fiber optic lights all over the Alcantara part of my interior roof that produce a star effect and also a plaid shaped color changing light on my roof glass which is electrochromic and responds to voice commands. I like this setup as do my kids and it produces an instant wow effect from most people who ride in the car. My wife also occasionally pretends to like it because she’s a nice person.
As you might imagine, this was not effortless or cheap to do. Here are some pics and a quick operational clip if you haven’t seen it before.
So, as I was shopping for exterior light stuff I ran into this product by cyberglow which I did not know existed that looks extremely cool and likely fits fairly seamlessly with the rest of my stars , so I’m debating…
https://getcyberglow.com/products/cybershade-starlight-roof-cybertruck
Undo what I did to the glass roof and replace it with said cool product or leave well enough alone and stick with the plaid light thing.
I know…color me a tortured soul.
Believe it or not these kind of decisions stress me out even though situations most other people consider VERY stressful don’t.
What do you guys think?
if you’re uninterested and think this is a total waste of time and money please move on, I respect your opinion and this isn’t the thread for you.

I don’t know how much you spent on your custom design (friggin awesome btw) but I feel that $1600 for an essential roof shade seems a bit steep to me. Also, how did you integrate the starlights into your alcantara? I’d be willing to give this a try

They are both neat but I think I prefer your custom setup. It's more dramatic.

Thank you. The stars are fiberoptics that are pulled through individually drilled holes In the headliner and then glued there with a hot glue gun and then trimmed from the alacatara side like you’re giving them a haircut. It’s an incredibly labor intensive process.

Here is a better clip than I have of what it looks like

Thank you. I think the appeal for me is the little shooting stars but you’re right, the big plaid light also creates a lot of light and the voice controlled opacity is super dramatic in the daytime. It’s not entirely clear which is a downer but the electrochromic effect is cool.

Good lord man, stick with what you made - so much cooler than anything bought. Not a person in the world would look at what you did and go "I wish it had a shooting star". :)

I guess I’m that one person but you’re right. It’s a lot of work to redo.

Think your current setup is more practical.

Stars is nice if you want to… sleep lol. With those kids maybe it a bad idea!
I had a shade back there for the summer, felt too dark tbh. I like the idea of more glow and ambiance

They both look great, yours now has more wow factor since you have the starlights already too. I'm gonna go both of best worlds.. Have your guy see if he can add some shooting starlights to the one you already have and make an ultimate light show. New one said it rolls up too, so if they can do it im Sure your guy could too....

That plaid part (which is confusingly named starry sky probably not by accident) wasn’t done by a guy. It was a Tesstudio part @CT_AZ_4x4 and I have installed about 5 times now. lol. Likewise with the mirror. We may be the most experienced s92 troubleshooters in the world at this point.
They even used it in their little YouTube promo.

Please note they had nothing to do with the stars, it’s not a product they sell or ever sold.
You’d easily be forgiven for thinking that based on the video title and the product names though. Pretty sure that is as close as i ever want to come to being a YouTuber.lol

Btw, for those interested I think those stars look even better in my wife’s model x. Something about the “dome” gives them more depth.

Tough call. The stars would really go well with the rest of the cabin, but as a speed demon I think the plaid is sooo cool. Are you going with the DRL from them?

I like bundling things. So if I get something from somewhere I’m probably gonna get most or everything they make. That’s my form of OCD haha. If it was me, I’d get both, but I can’t speak to what’s best for Bandit. My pet Abilisk out on the driveway right now has nothing done to the interior and isn’t wrapped, so mods are definitely not my strong suit.

Ooh…both…now there is some out of the box first principle thinking.
