I see your hesitation about the price tho. Thats a big pill to swallow. And you have to send in your OEM one, I'd make sure this doesn't void any warranty.
OEM return is not required but to get the core refund it would need to be sent back.

@CyberGlow thanks for being a part of the community and joining. I too have been looking at boring light and nemesis and definitely didn’t like the idea of tying my light show. We appreciate the extra discount as well I did see anyone can get 15 percent off.

First question Do you cover the shipping of the return light bar?

Second do you plan on making a diy kit that would be cheaper on us and something that the users who are capable could dismantle their light and just upgrade?

yes, we’re actively thinking about it. If we do it, it’ll be the same mindset as CyberBeam: OEM-style fitment, clean install, and built to handle real weather and real mileage. I don’t have a release date I can share yet, but it’s on the roadmap.

Any other use cases or anything else you could think of that could help law enforcement on the roof application?
It would definitely need to be a 2-way lightbar. Front and back. Front to indicate someone needs to pull over, and back to indicate oncoming traffic needs to move over or slow down.

@ABILISK is a police officer. He may have some thoughts on that.

Hi Michael, welcome.

This would be great for law enforcement.

Do you have plans to make a roof light bar?
@ABILISK
I’d love to get your input on this. Do you think a setup like this could be a solid tool for law enforcement, both a roof light bar and the front DRL bar? I’m seeing more agencies starting to use Cybertrucks, so I’m curious what features you’d want to see to make it truly useful.

For rooftop, like I said a 2-way is mandatory. Incorporating the DRL would be awesome, as sometimes I’m pulling over a Corolla and other times I’m pulling over a lifted F350. Rear view mirrors come at many different heights.

Really appreciate you, and I’m with you on that. Keeping the Tesla OEM light shows and factory animations intact was non negotiable for us.

On your questions:

  1. Core return shipping
We do provide a core return box for the OEM bar. We don’t cover the return shipping though. Depending on where you’re located in the US, it’s usually around $50–$75 to ship it back to us using our box. Once it arrives and checks out, we process the $800 core refund right away.
  2. DIY kit
We’ve definitely thought about a DIY kit, but the reality is the disassembly is tough and it takes a lot of work to make our bars do what they do while still keeping everything OEM-compatible. The last thing we’d want is people cracking or ruining their DRL bars trying to open them up and reseal them.

That said, I’m not against it long-term if we can make it safe and repeatable.

I’d buy bed lights in a heartbeat. I have to be able to keep them on while driving, dim them and or change colors. If there was a way to get them to integrate with the oem UI so they change color with the interior strip that would be amazing.

This is something we are definitely considering as well as bed lights. Thoughts?
This would be a great addition. How are your light controlled? Is this only an app or any plans to mimic interior ambient lighting? This way it can be controlled via teslas UI?

Apparently that’s doable because the Chinese guys are now selling those blind spot detector strips that pick that info up from the passenger footwell plug.
