Has anyone had success using hydrophobic wipes or rinse for camera cleaning?
Does it help keep cameras clear in rain?

I bought this stuff after seeing some recommendations, but the problem is that the rear camera gets dirty very fast and needs to be wiped down often. So I’m just removing the coating each time. Maybe in the rain it will be good, but in the dirty winter snow and slush I’m not too convinced it helps

Apparently, cleaning camera lenses without damaging them can be tricky. According to Ara, one of the safest ways to clean the cameras is with the glass cleaner from the Tesla detailing kit. Supposedly it has some hydrophobic properties.

My B-pillar and fender cams are ceramic-coated, which keeps them pretty clean. (To be fair, we don’t get salted roads, and rain is usually 6 inches in one hour once a month.)

The rear camera is a travesty. I’ve coated it, cleaned it, and polished it to no avail. It will be clear in daytime, but at night the glare is unbearable.
