Is it as bright as the original light bar wS before it was nerfed in software? If it matches brightness or is even brighter then you will have many sales. I want my cybertruck reveal level of lightbar laser power!
It is as bright or possibly even brighter.

Hey @CyberGlow,
I got an ad for the starlight roof on your site and am curious to know what differentiates yours from Tesstudio's?

I have an infant that I'd like to keep shaded or entertained in the back, but also want to be able to look through my glass roof on occasion.

Thanks for the question. The CyberShade Starlight Roof for Cybertruck you saw on our site (https://getcyberglow.com/products/cybershade-starlight-roof-cybertruck) and the starry sunshade style product from Tesstudio are basically the same type of idea — a retractable shade that gives you sun protection and a cool starlight look at night. Right now Tesstudio’s version is out of stock or unavailable and ours has a typical build and ship time of about 4 to 6 weeks once you order.

For what you’re talking about with shading for your infant and still being able to enjoy the glass roof sometimes, both are aimed at that same purpose.

Yep. On the normal standard DRL mode it runs like factory, and that brightness stays consistent.

When you want it brighter, you can switch to our CyberGlow mode with the remote while you’re driving, and that mode is noticeably brighter than the factory output. You can also adjust the brightness in that mode to your preference.

So if what you miss is that original pop, you’ll get it back and then some.
Is there any way that the light bar is always bright instead of switching modes. I want the light bar the way it normally functions but just don’t like how they neutered the brightness.

basically, I just want the light car to function as is but brighter.

is that possible or do I have to keep switching the mode while driving?

To have it super bright you would just have to click one button on our included remote.

I also hate the fact they did that with the light.

Do you know what would be super kewl, Mr. Michael from CyberGlow? If you could retrofit puddle lights into the mirrors so we would have open door illumination AND a nice, little, imaginative display around the vehicle at night.
That being said, YOUR LIGHT BAR ROCKS!!! 🤙

@freyguy Which speaker set up did you go with?
Hey everyone 👋

Michael here. I’m the founder of CyberGlow and a fellow Cybertruck owner and lighting nerd.

We’re excited to officially join CybertruckOwnersClub as a site sponsor, so I wanted to properly introduce myself and what we’re building.

Why CyberGlow exists ⚡
Like a lot of you, I wanted to customize the Cybertruck without breaking what makes it special. Almost every aftermarket light option I saw either:

  • Killed Tesla Light Shows
  • Broke factory animations
  • Required splicing or sketchy wiring
  • Or just didn’t look OEM at all
So I built what I couldn’t find.

What we make
Our flagship product is CyberBeam, a front DRL light bar designed specifically for the Cybertruck.

The key difference:
👉 It’s the first and only RGBW Cybertruck light bar that fully retains Tesla’s OEM Light Shows and factory animations (lock, unlock, wake, etc.)

A few things the community usually asks
  • ✅ Plug-and-play (no cutting or splicing)
  • ✅ Retains OEM DRL behavior
  • ✅ Full RGBW customization when you want it
  • ✅ OEM-style fit and finish
  • ✅ Designed and assembled in the U.S.
This isn’t about flashy lighting for the sake of it. The goal was OEM-first, customization second.

Looking forward to being here
I’m not here just to sell. I genuinely want feedback from real Cybertruck owners and I’m always happy to answer technical questions about lighting, installs, or future ideas.

Thanks for having us, and I’m looking forward to being part of the community 🤝

If you see a Cybertruck glowing a little differently… it might be us 😎⚡

Michael you would get a lot of us severe winter drivers as customers (see headlight issues ad nauseum) if you give us the ability to 1) shut off the CyberBeam during heavy snowstorms (and fog), to avoid the blinding illumination that we get from lightbar currently. 2) Better option would be to shut off the center section and leave the left and right on (as eyes ;), and better still on my wishlist, add the ability to “wink” at other drivers, would be a killer feature.

As for priorities, simply want the controls to be simple and close at hand with out looking (eg control buttons on the back of squircle or between armrest and phone chargers).

Good luck and keep us posted!

Our first version you were able to do shut off the bar completely but were not able to do light shows we can still build it that way if anyone wants it, also a wink would be pretty cool.

With that winter driver aspect in mind, if the whole bar could be heated it would help in icing and snowy conditions

The bar does generate some heat, ill try and get some temperature readings to see how effective it would be.

Hey! CyberBeam pricing is $2,850.

If you use the Cybertruck Owners Forum discount code CTOC17 you’ll get 17% off, which brings your total to $2,365.50 today.

Once you return your OEM bar in good shape, you’ll get an $800 core refund, so your net cost comes out to $1,565.50.
That discount code no longer works.
The price is now $2,900

First thanks Daniel for creating this. I definitely want one and have actually had my order ready twice. I held off because of Christmas chaos and also various discussions on this thread, which have answered nearly all of my concerns.

My remaining concern is the life expectancy:

1) As noted in this thread a one year warranty is pretty short (although it IS typical for almost any electronic device). As to why I feel this way:
A) It is reliant on both software and hardware. Over the past couple of years several of my home electronics have bricked because software was not longer updated or supported the hardware. I think you resolved part of this issue for me with your key fob switch - thanks.
B) It appears that you are breadboarding this and then sealing up the unit for moisture. All good, BUT this is going in my truck, which I used both on road and off-road and expect to keep for 10-20 years (I have Porsches that are just turning 30!).. As such it is subject to daily vibration, higher G forces, temperatures, moisture etc. all can and will take a toll on electronics. Tesla (like all car companies) are subject to SAE standards to ensure that electrical systems will have a long life and not interfere with other connected systems. SAE J1128 & J1292 for example and Tesla's own proprietary standard TS-0000423-05 (currently in Revision 6) is its standard to test components both internally and from third party suppliers.

I see others asking for photos etc of your work product and I fully understand your desire to maintain confidentiality. But can you please confirm that your work is done to industry standards, such as I have noted above? If so which one and how was testing done (on road, or off road, miles tested, failure rates, etc). Many of the secondary screens (for CarPlay, etc) do list such standards and testing. I think this would go a long way to ensuring customers that your products are built to industry vehicle standards and thus should have long life.

Finally, I see on your website you have created a retractable sunshade with star effects - very cool.. I have installed my Starlink under my glass roof with a suction cut system and use the Tesla sunshade that came with my Beast - it all works perfectly. The Starlink/mount does hang a couple of inches from the glass and I'm wondering what the clearance is for your system is and if it would have clearance?

Hey, thanks for the thoughtful questions and for doing the homework in this thread. Totally fair concerns when you’re putting anything electronic on a vehicle you plan to keep 10 to 20 years.

Warranty and life expectancy

You’re right that 1 year is typical in consumer electronics, but we also understand why that feels short for an automotive accessory. Our goal is not sell it and forget it. We support what we build and we keep improving the design based on real world use and feedback.

Software dependency

Two key points here

  1. The CyberBeam system does not rely on Tesla software to function
  2. We added the remote specifically to reduce the need to constantly interact with the app and to give you a reliable hardware control option

The app experience can feel clunky if you’re new to it, but the product itself is not bricked if you are not living in the app every day.

Build method and sealing

We are not breadboarding and tossing it in a box. We build it as an automotive style retrofit assembly and we seal our bars with silicone for moisture protection. The silicone is used intentionally because it provides a durable, flexible seal that holds up better than rigid sealing methods when you introduce vibration, thermal expansion, and daily temperature swings.

We also focus heavily on practical reliability items like strain relief, secure mounting, proper wire routing, and connector integrity since those are common failure points in vehicle electronics.

Also worth noting, we live in the Midwest and we test and run these through some of the harshest weather conditions you can throw at a vehicle, including deep cold, snow, salt, rain, and big temperature swings.

Industry standards and testing

This is the important part, and I want to be careful not to claim certifications we do not formally hold.

We design with automotive best practices in mind, but we are not representing this as officially validated to Tesla proprietary standards or formally SAE certified in the same way a Tier 1 supplier would advertise.

What we do have is real world validation. We test on vehicles in day to day use across weather, car washes, temperature swings, vibration, and normal and aggressive driving conditions. We also track issues when they come up so we can improve sealing, mounting, packaging, and process. That is how V2 was born in the first place.

If you want more transparency without us exposing confidential build details, we can share the general approach and what has changed across versions, plus what behaviors to expect around vehicle power states

Sunshade with Star effects clearance with your Starlink setup

Good question. If your Starlink mount hangs a couple inches below the glass, clearance could be tight depending on where it sits and how far down it hangs. The safest move is to measure the drop from the glass to the lowest point of the Starlink mount and compare it to the available space. If you share that measurement and where it is located on the roof, we can tell you if it is likely to clear or if it would interfere.

Appreciate you again for asking this.
