CCS1 to NACS Adapter for Cybertruck now available in Tesla Shop

It has the same exact 1000 volt/500 AMP rating as the A2Z. Nowhere on the A2Z webpage does it state what the kW charging speed is.

kW isn't really a limit for a pass through adapter.
Heat comes from Amperage. 250kW at 100V would melt any adapter.
Where does Tesla call out the 500A limit? I found the 1000V documented.

Wouldn’t that presumably mean that at 1000v the restriction is 250amps whereas at 500v or less the adapter could handle up to 500 amps?

Yes, if one used 250kW at the limit.

For power production and consumption devices, voltage, current, and power are all limits; but for pass through devices, insulation/ clearance/ creepage drives voltage limit and path resistance/ heat dissipation drives current limit (connectors are usually the weak link). There's no practical reason a connector can't do the max current at the max voltage.
Put another way, the internal wattage limit (self heating) of the connector determines the max current since that is what generates heat.

I'm also running into troubles this on the Tesla page. Was able to add it to the cart but does not allow me to check out with a deactivated Place Order button.

Update: I waited on this screen for a few more minutes and the Place Order button became active. Was able to complete order.

I bought the Tesla one a couple of days ago, and it just arrived. I already had an EVBASE one, but wanted the ‘official’ one instead. The EVBASE was about $130 at the time, and it works, though I only tested it once. Here they are…

yes it fits.. i got it when i got my truck in december. ive got the one tesla made a couple of years ago that has a smaller neck.

Thanks for the response. Congrats on the truck! Did the box say good for upto 250kw. I am hoping it could handle some of the Third-Party chargers that are hitting 350kw.

If the charger outputs 800V, you should be fine. It would only exceed 500A if the pack were down to 700V.

Yes, this new Tesla adapter does fit my Cybertruck, and it seems like it might be firmer than the other one. I haven’t tested it other than making sure it can go all the way in yet though. When I tested the other one, the really giant, heavy CCS1 cable seemed kind of uncomfortably levering it in the truck’s charge port. It could be that the new Tesla one will seem better.

Did the price go up, I thought it was $180 before? The one I bought specifically says 250kw, so I would buy Tesla's version if I can be sure that it will handle the 350W electrify america or similar. The website says specifically charging speeds up to 250kW.
