Says the king of "Look what I can do!"

1756227471371-bk.png

Kid: "Hey Dad! Look at that...isn't that cool!"

Father: "Oh yeah that is cool! Plugs on a chord away from the truck!"

Kid: "No Dad, I meant the mounted M46 chaingun mounted in the bed..."

Father: "Oh...hmmm, oh yeah, I guess that is cool too. I didn't even notice it as I was staring at the fancy extension chord..."
Oh that's a good laugh for today, kudos my friend, kudos! :)

It lets you power things with the bed closed and locked. Handy in general.
If the bed is closed and locked (i.e., you are away) then doesn't this also allow someone 'else' to unplug your device and plug theirs in?

I meant locked as in not open since having my phone means it's unlocked.
Without unlocking the truck, it can't be disconnected.

If the truck is locked, they would need to pry the charge port door open (or be next to a Tesla connector and push the handle button). Once they plug in their Mobile Connector with outlet adapter, they can't then unplug it.
The truck will also not allow power export without having been unlocked. So they would be doubly screwed.

Played with the adapter again tonight. Just worked, must have been the firmware I was on before. Interestingly it still said it was waiting for solar while using it. Tested charging the X.

I’m thinking about buying this outlet adapter for at home power backup options. Any idea what the waiting for solar things was about?

Be aware, when you plug this in, the bed and cabin outlets are disabled. If you would only have used the 120V bed ones anyway, it makes a handy extension cord.

I love mine. Thank you for the advice @mongo.
It’s nice to go to sleep in the tent with this high quality beefy cord keeping the Ecoflow power station which runs the ac and everything else powered up but the car is completely locked down.
Have not done this yet since the Low Power mode update. Wondering if it’s possible to be in low power mode and run this. Seems like that would be potentially beneficial.

Oh I was just commenting that it had the message about waiting for solar though it was not plugged in to anything that could charge the truck on solar. Sure it is just a oddity in the firmware/UI.

You’ll get this message if you plug in your Tesla charger with the breaker turned off too.
I think it’s the car’s way of saying, “there is something shaped like a charger plugged into me but nothing is happening.”
