I use FSD in my CT ~80% of the time...
I've also experienced something similar... I have 3 round abouts in my neighbor hood leading to my house, and I've had it get confused between exits, and nearly hops the curb. It's rare that it happens, and more probable at night.

I'm a car enthusiast,Teslas aren't my only vehicles, I had an EARLY EARLY Model 3 Performance, back when the cars around you were rendered as boxes. Early Auto-pilot was rough... Navigation on Auto-pilot was a little improvement, but FSD today... it's so good. so good. Maybe I'm more desensitized because I've watched it "Grow up" but I feel people who aren't experiencing it are completely missing out. It's the greatest feature Tesla offers. I find it crazy that people drive their own Teslas. :)

I agree. When I got my CT, I was all about the fun driving it. It's still fun letting FSD do the commute slog. 75% FSD for me. Which is a LOT more than I thought I'd ever let it do. I'm so thankful it's as good as it is. So much so that I find myself no longer yearning for that next version. I mean, I want it but I don't care if it's next month or next year. Others have other circumstances and I get it isn't perfect for the way they drive (me either but it's really good). But, for DC traffic and the 40+ miles I commute each way, it's a life saver.

I get the jitterbug everyday on a particular turn, after getting off the freeway, it notably seems to be when choosing a lane when turning heading towards backed up traffic.

I should take video of my CT doing an unprotected left turn with a blind hill near my home. It's one of those turns that make you a little nervous when you're not in the driver's seat. FSD nails it... It's so good.

I find edge cases every so often... it's clear it couldn't be unsupervised at the moment (on a CT) but I'm in constant awe.

Try what again? Going through that section of road?
It has navigated it perfectly in the past
FSD is weird that way. It can go through an area 200 times, 198 times perfectly and screw up 2 times.

Last night FSD almost drove me directly into a lamp post. I took over right before impact! Was already on the curb at that point. I saw it hesitating but thought id wait it out and see if it fixed itself as it was a quit road at night

Yikes! I've experienced the FSD-Can't-Decide back-and-forth a few times, but never while headed toward a collision. Only once where even a curbing might have happened. But I have also, like you, had FSD lose confidence at locations and in similar conditions where it's done just fine before. Not sure what it'll take to train that behavior out of the model, but it's a reminder that we're all still supervisors.

Just an update. Went through that round about last week with no problems (as usual)

My cybertruck has done this in a round about in our neighborhood but most of the time it navigates it flawlessly. The only time it seems to do this as you experienced is at night, similar to your conditions.
