It’s crazy how they manufactured the seats like this when they’re doing it correctly for the rest of their models. Like wtf.

Seems like if you could get the seat "undressed" without removing it, you'd be able to use some silicone sealant to make that all airtight.
Yea hoping one of these YT guys will do it, or hopefully Tesla realizes that they shipped 40k CTs with advertised but not actual Ventilated seats and offers an optional recall or at least fix for more $$

I'd be surprised if this wasn't fixed already by Tesla and only earlier models are having the problems.

Been using the mesh seat covers for about 6 months now. I was questioning how well the seat portion worked until a few days ago. It was cold out but apparently i was running hot. Turned on the coolers and after a few minutes had to turn them off due to being overchilled. lol. These definitely make a huge difference. I think, as pointed out, the seats just need some contour to them and they would be so much more effective.

At least 30-40k trucks out in the wild with almost 0 ventilation. Maybe some very recent ones they have fixed.

To add, my wife’s 2024 Model 3’s ventilated seats work great.

You’d think something that’s very common in automobiles would’ve been built correctly. Now, it’ll be pulling teeth to get Tesla to fix it under warranty…and I’m not holding my breath for them to issue a bulletin to fix it.

My last trip to service center the tech who worked on my vehicle told me they were getting a lot of complaints (now that it is warming up in the South) and that it would likely be an option to have fixed in the near future. Who knows, but it is needed.

Good to hear. Let’s hope Tesla makes it a bulletin so anyone who requests / complains about it will get it fixed without any pushback.

An intrnernal look at the seat and why the cooling is so anemic. I'm ready for some DIY vids!
Being loose doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t seal. The suction “should” pull it tight.

I’d be curious to see some tests with a tighter seal to see the difference.

It will happen eventually, enough people will be hot enough with sweaty enough backs that it gets done, hopefully Tesla addresses it early instead of later like the cantrails so folks don't have custom seat colors etc then have to get seats swapped or messed with.

I haven't officially submitted a service request for this...but will in the next couple of months. Gotta give Tesla more data so they can issue a fix for it. :)

Side note this guys X is doing a huge sound deadening upgrade on the CT, worth watching.
So, how hard is it to get to that area? Is that just the bottom of the seat? More complicated?

Wondering the same thing.
Service tech told me they have had a lot of complaints and anticipate a service ticket to be issued but currently can't do it.

The guy on X is easy to get to. I would totally go straight to him. it’s probably a Saturday project of course getting the seat out of the vehicle and the cover off of the seat back is probably the hardest part.
