Delivery date is moving too aggressively for it to be just demand driven, can only mean there's a supply constraint affecting the Standard AWD and not the Premium. In all likelihood the ramp of the dry cathode cells.

Ok guessers. The ramp of the dry cathode. This is why AI pulls out BS now and then. It pulls this from the interwebs and spews it out as garbage like this guess.

While I under
I'm about 16k higher than you, and I placed it 2/20 around 10pm EST.
While I understand other models are increasing the reservation numbers, I'm certain they have had a large influx of CT orders since February 19th.

I bet orders really picked up after Elon reported the 10 day thing.
I'm sure. Let's see what happens March 1st. I'm curious what the pricing structure across the CT board will look like.

Quick question, all the photos I've seen of the interior cloth type fabric (RWD. version) of the seats were gray and looking at the order page it looks like it's black (maybe a dark charcoal gray or my display settings are low) for the 59k model? I'm fine with black actually prefer it.

Also, there are reports that ambient lighting for the dash/doors was removed for the 59k base model but the photo clearly has it.

As of today, it is just the RWD interior, you can find pics of that in the wild (linking to a thread here). The RWD had ambient lighting and the color is more of a dark grey than black.

Dry cells have already ramped well and far outpace CT production. Hence why the Y is getting a new 4680 pack.
Precisely because they're allocating 4680s to the new Y pack that could be an issue.

Tesla would just scale back that pack if needed. The only reason that pack currently exists is that Tesla has a bunch of 4680 cells laying around (they've been well over 2x CT production rate for over a year now, dry cells since Q3), and they have an excess of production currently. The new Y 4680 pack is a lower capacity pack than the 2170 packs and it has some logistical issues to it (they ship from Austin to Berlin currently), where if the cells could be used in CTs instead, it solves a few issues. There wouldn't be any production issues in Berlin either as there is a ton of 2170s on the market that Tesla could gobble up. LG especially has a huge supply right now.

It is likely a simpler supplier issue... the bed and suspension components have had very little production and the contracts were likely canceled or drastically cut back when the RWD was canned. Those lines have to be spun back up and get going again. IIRC Bilstein's Mexico plant handles most of Austin's production (both CT and Y) and a place in Indiana manufactured the bed components. Both of those can be spun up relatively quickly (few months), but it isn't a light switch. The June deliveries very likely represented the supply on hand. Anything beyond is the specialized components needed for this model. Then the focus is likely on fully utilizing one shift of production as adding a 2nd shift adds significant cost.

Finally some original thought.
