I own 4 cars all in my name and all insured by State Farm in Georgia. My 6 month renewal is upon me and State Farm is not renewing my CT only. All 3 other vehicles are being renewed along with my house insurance and my umbrella. The reason they are citing for non renewal of the CT is a minor accident I had in 2024 in a different vehicle, a minor accident my daughter had in 2025 in her separate vehicle, and a roadside assistance claim for towing a vehicle with a flat tire in 2025.

If the driving record of the entire household is the reason for non-renewal, why is State Farm not renewing the CT only??? Also, who on earth uses a roadside assistance call as a reason for non renewal of one of 4 vehicles? This seems targeted at the CT, and total BS.

I ended up getting a separate policy through Allstate just for the CT.
Maybe you should switch all of your concerns away from the company that is clearly making bizarre and unreasonable decisions … just saying.

OP

Yeah, I am not loyal, $$$ is $$$, but I am going to keep status quo for the next 6 months with the state farm renewals for the bulk of it, and the new Allstate coverage for the CT. I will shop it all out in 6 months when it is renewal time again.

FWIW... In GA the CT with 250/500/500 Liability (high limits required for my umbrella), Comp/Collision with $1000 deductibles, Uninsured Motorist coverage, accident forgiveness, and a few other small bells and whistles came to $1700 for 6 months, not horrible, not great.

As a side note... if you have roadside assistance through insurance CANCEL it !!!! They (State Farm) used it against me to dump the CT! Get AAA or some other roadside!

I did call a company called Alfa insurance and asked for a quote for the whole package, Home, auto, umbrella, and they told me they do not insure Tesla's at all. I asked why and they said, "IDK"... I made a comment that is not a very valid reason to not sell insurance on one of the fastest growing and most reliable vehicles in America, and they hung up on me.
Arizona with same limits and a plup 1300 6mo with State Farm. And I think that’s high

After getting dropped, why would you continue to give them your business? They neither appreciate nor deserve your loyalty.
Exactly. Sheep

The underwriters at AAA canceled renewal of my AAA Home Insurance because I had a bogus $10,000 claim against my AAA Homeowner Insurance Policy in California by someone in Florida! It took months to get LexisNexis to remove the bogus claim. So, I went with Farmers for House Insurance and switched my AAA auto insurance to Tesla Auto Insurance. All my vehicles are Teslas. I left my daughter-in-law’s Subaru Crosstrek on the AAA Auto Insurance policy.
This has saved me money! I can make changes to the policy through the Tesla app. Tesla Insurance maintains a driving “Safety Score” in the Tesla app. I like it!

Do you agree with Tesla's Safety Score values? Mine were pretty high but I was (and still) get dinged for Forward Collision Warnings that were/are bogus. I'd hate for my insurance rates to be so affected. Luckily they cannot do it in Calfornia (yet).

I asked GROK 4.1: “Does Tesla use Tesla Insurance “Safety Score (Beta)” in the Tesla app to determine Tesla Insurance premiums?”

Response:
**Yes, Tesla uses the Safety Score (Beta) displayed in the Tesla app to determine Tesla Insurance premiums in most cases.**

According to official Tesla sources (as of the current date in 2026):

- Tesla Real-Time Insurance calculates monthly premiums based on several factors, explicitly including the vehicle's monthly **Safety Score (Beta)**. A higher Safety Score leads to a lower premium, as it quantifies safer driving behavior. Tesla states: "As your Safety Score increases, your insurance premium decreases. The safer you drive, the less you pay." It uses **Safety Score Beta** along with details like the vehicle, garaging address, miles driven, and coverage selections.

- The **Safety Score (Beta)** in the Tesla app provides transparency on driving behaviors (via metrics like forward collision warnings, hard braking, aggressive turning, etc.) and directly influences premiums for Tesla Insurance policyholders.

However, there is a key exception:
- In **California**, Tesla Insurance does **not** use Safety Score Beta to determine premiums due to state regulations/privacy laws. There, the score is available for educational purposes only (to encourage safer driving), but it does not affect rates. Real-Time Insurance (the usage-based product relying on Safety Score) is not available in California.

This applies to states where Tesla Insurance is offered (availability varies by state, typically excluding California for the real-time/Safety Score-based pricing). The score is a weighted average (often by miles driven without Autopilot/FSD engagement), and premiums can adjust monthly based on it.

For the most up-to-date details specific to a location or policy, check the Tesla app or official support pages like tesla.com/support/insurance/safety-score and tesla.com/support/insurance/tesla-real-time-insurance, as versions (e.g., Safety Score Beta v2.2) and state rules can evolve.

I live in California. I’m not worried about what the Safety Score Beta v2.2 thinks of my driving. If they have a problem with my driving, they can call 1-800-EAT-SHIT!

I don't know. Lemonade quoted me $200~/mo
If they did a 50% discount, it'd still be twice the price of my Progressive quote.
I have not tried progressive in a while. I may check them out.

I'd drop State Farm entirely... where I live, there are numerous lawsuits against State Farm for homeowners ins. lack of payout. On my block a neighbor had a house fire and they've been jerked around for nearly a year so far with no repairs and are living out of their RV even though they had full coverage. Made the news here, and I believe they are suing now too. Not sure what happened to State Farm, but they are among the LEAST trustworthy at this point. They'll take your thousands in payments for years and utterly screw you over if you ever need them to fulfill their side of the bargain for homeowners insurnance. Get someone else. Progressive has been solid for me. Had one claim a few yrs back, they were efficient and fair.

Frustrating for sure.. I've had good luck with Allstate so far, good rates and coverages.

If you use FSD (Supervised), you don’t get dinged as often. Using FSD (Supervised) helps Tesla by adding to the driven miles under FSD. Currently, Tesla has 8 Billion miles of FSD driving data. Elon says that Tesla needs to get to 10 Billion miles. I have had FSD since 2019 and it just keeps getting better through software updates! I expect it to continue to get better.
