Cyberbeast to AWD Order Conversion = Instant VIN

Sawyer Merritt indicated that he had a follower with a confirmed Foundation Cyberbeast order who converted to a Foundation AWD model and was assigned a VIN within hours. I’m staying with my Cyberbeast order, but this is interesting.

What it doesn’t say is just how “preferred” this buyer is.

If eg Franz’s dad has a Beast in order they haven’t given it to him only because they haven’t been able to build them. Switch to AWD and he moves to front of the line.


Not saying of course that Merrit’s follower is Franz’s dad level, only that it’s clear some got accelerated access to the CT, and but for selecting Beast will prob continue getting accelerated access.

Accurate that he was likely already preferred somehow. I changed my beast to AWD just a few days after my order (configured beast 1am 12/9, changed to AWD on 12/11-ish, Dallas) and still waiting for my VIN.

Timing wise. should still work in your favor considerably, even as average Joe

But average Joe with a Beast order shouldn’t assume that getting their VIN immediately is a click away

the cyberbeast is the “order configured”

and to date they’ve built 28 Beats while they’ve built almost 600 AWDs

the ‘line’ for a Beast is moving MUCH slower than the ‘line’ for the AWD

I too have a FS Cyberbeast on order since 1/2/2024. My nearest SC has it listed for delivery on or about 5/30/2024. Yes, it is another 8 more weeks away but the fact that I have waited over 4 years and change for this Beast has been trying to say the least. My friend switched from the Beast to AWD back in February and he had just been assigned a VIN. Not fair ? Well, so in the mean time...I ordered a new Model 3 DM in Ultra Red with white interior and looks like I may get it before the Beast
If anyone has ever owned a pre-refreshed M3, please test drive the new one. It's well built (it's from Fremont) refined, fast, handles well, feels solid yet still minimalistic. The driving dynamics is every bit as good as any premiums from Europe or Japan. Kudos to Elon and the Tesla team.

How did your friend change AWD to Beast? Im thinking of doing the opposite.

I did change from AWD to Beast and I did it over phone.

Call Tesla CS. Try doing it first thing in the morning when they're not swamped with calls. They can assist you. I recently also changed my Model 3 DM to the Performance through CS. Good luck ?

Hmmm, any idea what the Beast delay is?

I’d need to see more experiences from real people moving to the front of the AWD line…I’d consider “un-Beasting”
