So I recently had a buyback app approved on my 2025 AWD

Per North Carolina lemon laws I have the option for a replacement which I am leaning towards.

Any opinions or ideas when the 2027 production will begin?

I’m hoping the 2027s will have updated PCS and other issues more refined than the current model year

Honestly at that point I'd wait for the 2028s, that has higher chance of more substantial changes.
I agree with you, three years under the production and most of the issues should be going through a midcycle refresh of sorts. The problem is I don’t have until then to make a decision on the replacement/buyback. I only have a few weeks.

Year '25 VINs didn't start coming out until Christmas '24. I held off for a week or so to get the new model year. At this point you'll probably be waiting for most of a year to get one model year difference.

Yeah, looks like a current 26 model year is gonna be the only option. Just don’t know what they fixed or updated in the current model year versus 25.

You just got unlucky with a 25. 26 changes are extremely minor. Biggest benefit is warranty policy change.

The sooner you get one the more Cybertruck you'll have in your life! I was just joking about waiting for 28. I'd get a 25 even at this point.

Looks like no documentable changes in 2026. The warranty actually remains the same for cyber truck, although it changes for all the other Tesla vehicles.

So hopefully they work out some of the rattles and squeaks in the 26 versus my 25.

It’s like pulling teeth to get a buy back for mine. Had to bug them for a week just to get them to submit the request.

But seriously, like you got your buy back done. 😁 (y)

My plan is to just a ‘26 right away. Could be awaiting ~6 months for a ‘27 and that’s no guarantee issues will be resolved. At least with a ‘26, the PCS is covered longer under warranty.

I’m a lawyer. And I got in touch with their regional director of service along with my local service Director who’s been wonderful quite frankly.

My first email to them included a photo of my opt out arbitration certified mail that was sent when I first purchased the vehicle letting them know my intent to litigate this if needed.

On all Tesla even on new CT I read that stainless steel is no longer going to be used.
Due to the following:
High manufacturing complexity
High production costs
Weight and efficiency trade‑offs
Safety and crash performance
Repair and maintenance
You read incorrectly.

They aren't going to use SS on any other vehicle, but will continue on the CT.

Probably an equal chance of getting a lemon 25 or lemon 26 or lemon 27.
Statistically probably yes, until they make midcycle changes and refreshes to components.

Did you get to convince them to transfer FSD / free SC?

That’s actually next on my list. I told them that I will absolutely litigate this if they don’t transfer them over.
