Anyone have any insight on the type of Tonneau bed cover for the new trim edition. Premium has retractable hard cover (vault) but the new trim removes “vault” from description.

It’s the same powered bed cover as the rest of them… only difference is no L Track bedside and no under bed storage.

Someone on YouTube mentioned a softer cover, still retractable but not strong enough to stand on. And not theft proof hence the word “vault” removed.

unsub and never watch that one ever again. Look at Tesla order page to confirm for yourself

the word “vault” applies a small compartment in the floor, aka "the smugglers bay" - new trim does not have it

Now, that makes perfect and logical sense, thank you.

Have been reading more. Appears hidden compartment is part of the vault, the bed secured by a lockable retractable cover. Not sure new trim will have this.

You were watching a review on the RWD … which the new trim is roughly based on but there are numerous changes that make the new trim more desirable mainly the second motor and the powered cover and PowerShare and bed outlets…. I could keep going.

Compartment below bed is not the vault but rather part of the vault.

According to lead cybertruck engineer he specifically stated that Vault Bed refers to L Track and Underbed Storage… do your research.

I think you guys are saying the same thing.

The vault is the bed of the truck, when it includes the smugglers bay, and the L-track.

Which I personaly think is stupid naming. The vault should be a truck bed that locks.

“Under VAULT bed is Underbed STORAGE”, your words. I will stand by the new trim having a different cover. Hoping I’m wrong.

There’s a reason the word “vault” is removed under the new trim features vs the premium trim where it is part of the description per the Tesla website.
