Tesla Cybertruck SILAZANE50 Ceramic Coating Results - Review & Photos IMG_2526

The @silazane50 ceramic coat process was very easy and the instructions leading you through the process were easy to understand with some pictures supporting the verbiage.

It’s a time consuming process, but an easy one. They recommend 2 packs for a Cybertruck and I do believe that’s accurate. You are able to cover the main panels of the Cybertruck with just one kit, but if you want to cover the black plastic as well (you really do) you will need 2 kits for full coverage.

Not only does this make it very hydrophobic, but very simple to clean. I drove through a mud puddle 2 days after application and thought I would have to clean it off when I got home… it was already gone by the time I parked. I also watched pollen fly off the vehicle while I drove away!

Do yourself a favor and protect your investment and sanity by the lack of cleaning you’ll have to do!

Note: The color difference between a few panels is due to an accident causing me to re-wrap a panel a year into the original wrap

I received a sample from SILAZANE50 for testing purposes, but these are my honest results."

Nice review! Did you apply it to your windows? How long did it take to get it done?

I didn’t do it on the windows, but with the window design water tends to slide off anyways. This really stopped the water from leaving marks all over the wrap anytime it rains.
The process took a few hours since it’s such a big car… it took longer to clean it with the provided cleaner than applying the ceramic coats.
Plan on 3hrs of your trying to be super detailed

I also received a few free samples of the Silazane50 and used one on my 2014 Mercedes and the other on a brand new 2026 Model Y. The process was easier on the Y because it was already mostly clean. It can be a 4 or 5 step process. (1) clean; (2) remove all water; (3) degrease; (4) ceramic coat; and (5) add protective coat.

I ceramic-coated the entire Y including the glass. It looks AMAZING. The quicksilver color caught the light before but now it looks almost liquid.

I’d say it is worth the expense and time, if it holds up. Remind me in a year for additional info on how it has held up under the Scottsdale, AZ sun!

Looks awesome.... I didn't know you can use this stuff on the glass too. I can't wait to do it on mine also but this damn weather won't let me.

Has anyone done this on a raw stainless CT yet? I want to see the results on there. I have to clean the hell out of mine before I can do it.

I’ll be doing raw stainless in the next few weeks and will let you know. Nihon coatings also sent me a glass-specific coating in a separate box/delivery, and I will report on that as well.

I didn’t use the “protective coat” on the glass, just the ceramic coat.

The instructions say to NOT use on glass. Another forum member did and reported no issues, so…

You can use on glass. We just don’t recommend the windshield, as it may cause the wiper to vibrate. That being said, a CT owner did coat the windshield, and his wipers don’t vibrate.

Sweet, keep me posted if you get the chance to do yours before I get to mine.

Can you use that glass specific one @CT_AZ_4x4 mentioned on the windshield? Or is that for all the other glass besides? The windshield is a freaking magnet for dirt and bugs so if it helps I'll put it on mine too - just don't want to mess up the wiper.

Nice! I've got my two @silazane50 kits ready to go as well, but I'm just waiting until my CT gets wrapped in a few weeks.

Looking forward to posting my own review of this product.

What kind of longevity should we expect on raw stainless?
SiLAZANE50 typically lasts 3 years on stainless steel.

The reason it’s so durable on raw metal is covalent bonding. Unlike standard waxes or ceramics that just "sit" on the surface, polysilazane reacts with the metal’s native oxide layer to form a Si-O-Metal bond. Essentially, it becomes part of the steel's surface rather than just a layer of "paint." This creates a dense, glass-like barrier that handles extreme heat and chemicals far better than organic coatings.
