If Tesla is going to insist on creating ‘speed profiles’, then I would like them to create the ‘ufsd’, or Unsupervised FSD, profile that will drive in all the same ways as Tesla expects an unsupervised car to drive. I would select that one and see how well or poorly it drives. I am not into FSD as a hands-off cowboy/bandito/buckaroo; I just want a safe car that I cannot get a ticket for when selected.
In 14.3 the speed profiles change automatically.

What the fuck does that mean? That sounds nightmarish and like something that I will reject out of hand.

It’s already a bridge too far to say that any input from me is “error” [if I hit the turn signal, the car needs to treat that as an edict unless it’s unsafe]; having no say whatsoever in what’s going on means 100% I won’t use it from that day forward.

Even a human driver/chauffeur doesn’t get to do whatever the fuck they want without any feedback from the passenger. “Go this way, please slow down, please go faster etc.”

If this is what they’re thinking, this is an excellent way to turn me into a hard-core Luddite overnight. I hope this isn’t accurate/the plan.

Hu? That doesn’t feel right. I never used MadMax or even Hurry. Would 14.3 now decide to go to those profiles? Based on what “inputs”?

I don't need to set a specific speed. BUT, I would like to be able to say "Don't go above THIS speed on this road". In a 55, it won't hesitate to be in the 70s. No big deal some places but here, it kinda is. So, in my specific case, I'd like to effectively say:

"The speed limit is 55 but I know traffic is normally goes 62 so that's okay. But, it's also okay to exceed that a little to pass but do not stay above that for long after the maneuver is done."

Wordy, but that's the gist.

Just use the right scroll wheel to instantly change the profiles. I use that to slow down when speed limits change with potential traps, and speed up when leaving the zone.

Care to explain in some more detail how this works?
A YTer was showing at night or in the rain... the profile switched to a more conservative profile automatically when the message popped up fsd degraded.

Oh damn, you're not driving are you?
Truck should be by now, a decade of waiting for the FULL in FSD
Was really hoping this 14.3 would be a bigger jump forward......... "minor changes"

TMK, the only forced change of the speed profile happens in perceived hazardous conditions. Unfortunately right now it seems to be a bit sensitive. I think you can see it in his main video.

He says he ends up stuck in Chill until about 2 mins after the light rain stops. He could lower the speed profile but not go above Chill.

That's exactly what I do. But, the speed eventually creeps back up. If it were unattended, who knows how fast it would get going. But, my point is that it gets going faster than I want it to without intervention.

70s in a 55… I got that beat…
I get 40 mph in a 20 MPH SCHOOL ZONE. Totally and completely unacceptable. Thats in addition to standard mode going 75 in a 55 mph highway.
