I have a 2023 x plaid. HW4, FSD, white with cream interior, matrix lights, 58k miles. Trade in from Carmax and others is right at $60k. Tesla offered me $49k a couple months ago, and just offered me $56k yesterday.

Im looking at used 2025 Premium cybertrucks. Most dealers (especially carmax) do not take photos of the infotainment screen showing if it has FSD or not. But I am seeing some screens with "start self driving". I assume it has FSD but im not certain if its paid for or it was monthly and the photo was taken before it expired. Is this correct?

I dont use FSD all that much, but its great for resale and even more true now. Is there any reason why I shouldn't get a 2025? They are running about $77-$78k with under 10k miles. So a little savings.

I really want autopilot but cant get it anymore on a new one. On my plaid I have two profiles, one with FSD and one without. I can siwtch back and forth even when driving which is nice. FSD is annoying on the highway which is why I don't use it much.

Test drive it and look at the screens, never had pay as I go FSD so not sure what to look for. It should be apparent tho. That’s also a great idea for the profiles, I’m have to try that.

My understanding is that as soon as a car dealer owns the car, the fsd is removed. Maybe that has changed, but as of a couple years ago fsd only stayed with the car in private party transactions.

that has never been true. If Tesla buys it they can and likely strip it but fsd stays with the vehicle any other time. I've bought two used teslas from 3rd party dealers and it transferred fine. One was less than two years ago and the other was 4 years ago. Neither dealer had any idea it even had fsd. I had to FaceTime the sales person.

Just a heads up, Tesla gave free FSD to all cybertrucks about a year ago for a year only , mine is up may 10, than will have to pay moving forward. You might be getting it from that until your year is up.

That is correct, one I just inquired on expires in June. This might be harder than I thought..
