A friend of mine decided to get creative and cut off the freeway through a muddy trail to avoid traffic. That plan went about as well as you’d expect, and he got himself stuck.

The mighty Cybertruck came to the rescue. I was able to pull him out, but then I managed to get myself stuck and had to be rescued by an ICE truck.

Overall, I was actually pretty impressed with how the truck handled it, even with the ending. I definitely need a refresher on the Off-Road app and settings. When you’re in the middle of mud, and rain, you quickly forget all the stuff you read. I’m sure I could have chosen better settings, locked the diff when needed, etc.

I think it was a setting thing lol raise the height lock the diffs drop air pressure would be my non expert advice lol
Raise the height - Check
Lock both front and rear diff - Check
Drop air pressure - Did not try but I suppose it would have helped with traction

Nothing else to do. Weight sucks. Heavy machines sink in mud or sand. Kills momentum. Not much you can do.

Best thing to have? Off-road traction board.

Check the sub on Reddit for stuck Cybertrucks. These pics will be on there with no backstory but how horrible the CT is for all different reasons. :p

Sorry it happened - On a side note a large number of people "getting stuck" ... rather it's sand or mud. It's usually the driver's fault. By not assessing the terrain and inexperience. (EVERYONE MUST GET ONCE) Get out , access the best route to check how deep and soft it is and set the truck up for it -lock differential, rock back and forth if needed, bring a rescue board. Keep wheels straight, Don't' keep spinning the wheels. Always let AIR out of all tires in the 20's PSI or teens for ICE. Focus on prevention through smart preparation, route choice, and technique.

I wonder if sitting in traffic would have been faster ;) :p

Everyone dreams of bypassing it with some 4x4 action, and I've even pulled it off a time or two, but that's funny right there.

I was on the exit to pickup someone at an airport, with a fresh 4-6" of snow on everything. 18-wheeler was stuck going uphill at the off ramp. Line of cars behind it. Sans the snow I might have backed up and taken the next exit or similar, but with the snow nothing was moving and the truck was jack knifed and nearly fully sideways... slammed the 1995 2 door Tahoe in 4x4 (actual physical lever!) and she performed amazing. Basically walked by all the other cars, right through the snow on top of grass and went along with my day. But I do think luck had something to do with it as I don't think I even had 'off road' tires, but back then I think most tires were more chunky than modern tires. It also got 12mpg city, highway, uphill, downhill, and while parked.

I dont know what it is about Texas, or maybe its just Houston, but the number of people that will simply drive off the freeway is too damn high! I think its a combination of no fences, frontage roads (roads parallel to the highway, going one-way in the same direction.), and entitlement.

I just quietly sit in traffic judging them 🤣. It may seem like a victimless crime, but the grass is damaged for a long time 😕

Tires are 90% of the battle. Even AT tires can get you stuck in mud and those look like the street scorpion tires. Mud is no joke.
