I will confirm 20% improvement in efficiency going from LTX to hanook ion Ht.
Last drive to Hillsborough,Tx. Arrived at 4% from 100% with LTX, this time arriving 24% with Hankook. Craxy improvement if you ask me.
No how do get get even more efficiency gain forged wheels and get another 10% :)

i dont use Tessie but how sure are you that the 20% is just from the Plats?
The 20% is over 60 miles of range, I'm not seeing anything close to that.

Since 14.2 Im driving with 99% FSD (75% Hurry, 20% MM and 5% Standard. Ive also had just over 5k miles with the Plats which I got at the end of December 2025. There isnt much Wh/mi difference.

Yeah, in my driving use case on the same route I was getting about 430 wh/mile on Michelin and 350 wh/mile on Pirelli

That's a heck of an efficiency gain. Are you sure your comparing apples to apples or do you maybe have an orange in there somewhere?
Things to consider when comparing:
1. Weather - Headwinds - Temperature
2. A BIG factor in the comparison is SPEED! Was it the same or did you hammer one trip and not the next.
3 Cargo load would have a bearing on efficiency. Was it the same? Maybe one of the trips had the tonneau cover open
4. Any other differences you know about? Traffic, drafting the big rigs?

1. Bit warmer 80 vs 50’s
2. Same speed
3. Closed.
4. More traffic

other user reported same % increase, I’m seeing the same..

still not good enough for me honestl, I need more.

Geez, 20% is a lot. It's more than just cost - for me, I like to do long road trips, and it would be about a) do I still have the range I want for the specific routing I'd like to take, and b) how much time am I adding to every charging stop along the way.

For example, from my house near Denver, I can just make it to the Ionna station in Fruita, CO on a charge - if I had to stop earlier, it would be much less convenient, as the earlier Tesla chargers don't have the same convenient food choices, etc. And by the end of the day, adding 4-5 minutes at each stop adds up to ~20 minutes per day or so? That seems relatively significant, especially on those days when I'd kill for another 20 minutes of sleep haha.

I hadn't really thought about this too much before - I didn't realize similar A/S tires would be so different in efficiency.

Look at the tire specs, tread depth ect.

Michelin LTX for longest mileage, but range hit
Hankook HT for best range, wont last as long as LTX
Pirelli Scorpion best all around

have to admit Elon and team did a great job with both tires we have as OEM
AT off road, all terrain Goodyear Wrangler Duratrak RT
AS on road, all season Pirelli Scorpion ATR Elect
they are the best all around, AT and on road driving, AS and on road driving, efficiency, range and mileage
yes there are better extreme tires for mileage, efficiency, or off road but not for combination uses
these two tires are the best for all around

Looks like Gemini didn’t take price into account. If the Hankook is as good as the LTX, only a little less durable, the price difference makes more than up for that.
and I do not understand that the Pirellis are “best” as they are same price as the LTX, but more expensive as the Hankook, and far less durable as both LTX and Hankook.

Status update: I went for the Hankook ION HT, 275/65/20
Ordered today at America‘s Tire (5/2), will arrive around 5/9, installation early in the week of 5/11.
Total for four tires, installation, balancing, etc. before taxes and fees $1085, including (CA, SanJose) tax $1,186.43

I did not include the “certificates”. Didn’t see the benefit of paying 4*$45 to save $238 for when I would have a non-repairable leak.

Current status, with the original Pirelli Scorpion EOM tires: 23K miles, 365Wh/mile lifetime average. Once the Hankook’s are installed I will keep track if the Wh/mile start changing.

Questions:
What determines the optimum tire inflation? Do I use the 50psi per Tesla recommendation or what the Hankook spec seems to indicate 42psi?

Per the reviews that I read, these Hankook, although definitely not purpose all terrain tires, they are OK for light off road. Does that include deflating them during off roading? Anyone having experience going off road with them?

Running 50PSI cold
No off roading yet for me just gravel and dirt roads no issues.
‘If you get the tire certs then full send off road. Why not.

Comparing 275 tires to 285 tires in Wh/mile terms may be problematic considering the difference in circumference per full rotation. 275s will have traveled less distance if the speedometer is counting revolutions. Anyone have any insight into this?

Not sure that’s how it works in a software defined auto.
I’ll let someone more geeky then me dive into it.

Just got my Hankooks installed. The tires got cheaper in the week between ordering and receiving/installing, by $12 each. I did buy the certificates, as Granch suggested, as I will do (some, limited) off roading. Total now came to $1325, including taxes and fees. Not bad.

Started a new trip counter to keep check of the Wh/mi. The Pirelli’s lasted 23,125 miles, with 365.3 Wh/mi lifetime average. Let’s see how long these Hankook lasts, 80K miles seems not realistically, but if the get to 50K that would be great.

They don’t look bad:
