Got a VIN for $59k Base Dual-Motor AWD Cybertruck!

Just got a VIN! 96551

Congrats! And hey, could you share digits 6, 7, and 8 of the VIN? Those are used to indicate the Cybertruck version, but it's not clear how Tesla defined the Base AWD. There are currently three options; the Base AWD may (or may not) be a new fourth option.

Known combinations of VIN Digits 6, 7, and 8:

GEC = RWD single-motor
HED = Premium AWD dual-motor
HEE = Cyberbeast tri-motor

VIN digits 6, 7, and 8 in a Base AWD will most likely be either:

- GED (a distinctive new combination), or
- HED (same as Premium AWD).

At this moment, you may be the only person (outside Tesla) that holds the answer to the critical "Base AWD VIN Question".

OP, which state do you live in? I’ve heard that Tesla prioritizes Texas and California since they are easier to deliver in (may be wrong).

Was hoping that I might get priority but it isn't happening. Ordered late, literally a few hours before cutoff on the 28th. Bot originally said Sept/Oct but a few weeks later went to "2027" and now nothing.

I may have one of the last orders, Feb 28 RN127210. I would have ordered on the first day but thought no way would the boss (my wife) ok it. To my surprise when I mentioned it the last day of the window she said without hesitation “Get it”. And on top of that she insisted I add the 20” rims. Go figure.

So after some back and forth with the Tesla delivery messaging person they said the truck is currently going through a final inspection. I can't do the pre-delivery tasks. So no delivery date yet.

I'm assuming it will be June hopefully in the middle of the month. I will be gone the beginning and end of June. I'm more available in July.

No they didn't say. They just told me they will update the app later.

OK, thanks. So now we know that Cybertruck versions are coded in VIN digits 6, 7, and 8 as follows:

GEC = RWD single-motor
HED = AWD dual-motor (both Standard and Premium)
HEE = Cyberbeast tri-motor

It seemed possible that the new Standard AWD would be GED (like the "GEC" of an RWD, but ending with a "D" for dual motors). In that case, the VIN would have distinguished Standard AWDs from other Cybertrucks. But Tesla apparently didn't go that route -- it appears that Standard and Premium AWDs will share the same VIN code instead.

The T in digit 10 means the 2026 model year (R = 2024, S = 2025). My wild guess is that it changes to U for 2027.
