Looks like all of the NY deliveries that are being reported are Verona, so may just be a luck of the draw. Certain Tesla locations are definitely getting more CTs than other.

I'm curious, for your delivery/registration... How many days between when you sent the signed NYS registration paperwork to delivery day? Did your vehicle have temporary or permanent NYS plates registration and inspection stickers on delivery day?

Hmm, interesting.

Since Verona is not a full Tesla center, I'm trying to wrap my head around how their process works while i wait for delivery day.

I can't imagine they can mail the docs to NYS and get plates and stuff back quickly. I also can't imagine a Tesla advisor personally visiting the DMV to reg vehicles, so i am confused.

@Fronhofer

When you took delivery, did they have NYS plates on the vehicle or did those get sent to you later in the mail? Also, i see based on the VIN thread, they had your delivery date set before the truck arrived, is that correct?
They insisted on supplies plates at Verona.

Interesting. I assume a permanent reg sticker as well like the others. I guess they must send someone to talk to Beatrice at the local DMV. :D I'm not sure how else they would be able to get permanent reg stickers so quickly.

I placed my Cyberbeast order 18-Jan and so far crickets. I have to say, Tesla customer service is terrible.

I honestly would be hard pressed to buy another Tesla.

Was told my truck was arriving at Verona yesterday and full payment and insurance was due on delivery date. Payment and insurance were finalized as instructed. I then got to schedule a pickup date of Friday!

...then I got a text saying the delivery was to tribal land and the pickup isn't scheduled on the app, don't show up Friday. They said instead they'd call me when it's ready, no ETA available. Unfortunately it seems like I have to wait through the weekend now, I'm pretty bummed because I thought I was locked in for delivery.

For those of us in New York, which car insurance are you considering?

I've been with Geico for many years, but I've been informed that after this 6-month period, they will no longer renew insurance for the Cybertruck. They've placed it on a "restricted vehicle list" that includes Bugattis and special Lamborghini models. I spoke to four representatives over the phone:

A) Two reps were unable to confirm this information and assured me that Geico would insure the Cybertruck without any issues. I received a quote without any problems. B) One rep provided a quote but mentioned that the vehicle is restricted and that the insurance would ultimately be canceled. C) Another rep said they could insure it now, but after 6 months, the insurance would no longer be renewable for the Cybertruck.

I wonder if "restricted" just means that the Cybertruck is ineligible for "mechanical breakdown insurance," which the car I'll be trading in has. Perhaps some of the Geico reps are confusing this terminology to mean that the car is ineligible to be insured altogether.

Can anyone shed any light on this or let me know which insurance they are going with? Thanks.

I just made another call to Geico and received further clarification.

Indeed the Cybertruck is listed on their "do not insure" list along with certain model Mclarens, Jaguars, Bugatti, etc. Those who have their Cybertrucks insured with Geico, will not be receiving a renewal at the start of the next 6-month period.

If you use Geico, I would make sure you look into this and plan accordingly. I hope I'm wrong, but if not, sorry to be the bearer of bad news here.

Thanks for the heads up. I have GEICO and it’s pretty reasonable for CT. Started May 1 so I have some time.

Fellow NY’r here. Long Island to be specific. Configured a cyberbeast a few weeks ago. I was at the Tesla in Westbury yesterday and there are 25+ cybertrucks on the lot. All AWD. No beasts. I spoke to the service department and they said they are now getting them in fairly quickly. I also asked about insurance. They said everyone is having an issue with Geico. People have been getting good quotes from State Farm and Progressive.

I placed my order for a Cyberbeast on 01/18/24. Still crickets. You can't even get anyone from Tesla on the phone or in a chat in the app.

At this point, I considering either not buying the truck or waiting on the non foundation series truck. FS does not seem to be worth the premium at this time. Full Self driving is not out yet and the price dropped $8k from $12k. The trucks are not being delivered with the light bar, and the price will drop $20k.

The FS Cyberbeast will instantly depreciate $20k plus once the non foundation series trucks are released.

What is the incentive to buy a FS CyberBeast when I can easily save several thousand dollars by waiting a very short time?
