Got mine done at a place called 0-60 in Spring for about 5k but it was definitely not a great job. Lot of swirls and light scratches in the wrap that i assume were made by incorrectly applying the wrap. They are only noticeably in certain sunlight and I did not see them for probably a week after i picked it up.
I know you were/are pissed after spending 5k for a botch job. I noticed a number of shops have lifetime warranty. That's the only way to go.

I bought a precut kit on eBay for $350 , just got a quote here in San Antonio for $600 for the labor to install. Will send pics when done.
Please tag me bc I seen some low prices on the old interwebs but I quickly side eye them thinking something not right here. There's shops charging astronomical prices but then eBay, Alibaba, Amazon and other pricing as low as $300. So what gives?!? I need to hear someone testimony who went the more affordable route first before I attempt it myself.

Since you're open to DIY — that's where you'll save the most. The CT's an easy DIY job with our pre-cut kit (just fits, no trimming), and the price is all upfront, none of the quote runaround you're hitting: vinyl color-change or color-infused PPF, $1,199–1,699, 50+ colors → https://twraps.com/products/cybertruck-ppf-color-wrap. The local shop recs in here are solid too if you'd rather hand it off.

Would you consider selling just one piece to see if it’s really DIY friendly. What is the easiest part to install and what is the most difficult piece.
This would give us a chance to try it out and if it works we will buy the full set. Thoughts? Suggestions…

Yes, absolutely. In my experience the easiest pieces to do are the bumper and the hood. The most difficult - the rear quarter panel (due to size).
With that said, a cheaper option is to try the cantrails as we sell these on their own due to the recall:
https://twraps.com/products/pillar-cantrails-delete-color-ppf-tesla-cybertruck

They are somewhere in the middle in terms of difficulty - easy for stuff like bubbles as they have a small surface area, but more difficult towards edge folding and handling as they are long and flimsy.

If you want we can do bumper + hood though as they come together on one sheet...if so just DM me.
