Just received my truck [2024 FS-AWD] back from PCS upgrade and had a weird thing happen.

If I use an non-Tesla charging station with the J1772 adapter (like at my office) the truck will not release the charge cable! The app and in cabin vehicle unlock charge port button do nothing. In addition, the manual release in the truck has no effect. I had Tesla roadside assistance on the phone and they had me do a soft restart and nothing changed. The only way to get the vehicle to release the adapter was to entirely power off the charge unit at the breaker panel.

Charging at home, or at a Tesla charger, I can use the button on the charge handle, phone app, or in cabin app to unlock the charge cable - no issue.

This never happened before the PCS upgrade.

Does anyone else have this issue? I have a SC appointment scheduled, but am worried that I cannot demonstrate the problem for them to diagnose.

Any help is appreciated.

That's weird. Powering off the charge cord shouldn't result in any differences as regards the port lock, unless the High Voltage Controller thinks the cord is still powered . Even then, the manual unlock should work.

Does the manual (or app/ UI) release work with just the adapter?

Thanks for the input.

The manual release would not release the adapter. Ive tried the same adapter at a different non-Tesla charger and the unlock button in the app and on-screen released the charge cable.

So, I'm beginning to think its the non-tesla charger at work that isn't working correctly.

If the Tesla SC says something else, I'll post it here.
