CyberBeast delivered: May 9, 2024

I was at the Tesla service station in Tysons VA today. They had a dual motor Cybertruck in the line. I noticed it had center caps on the wheels so I asked the service advisor whose truck it was as there was several of us waiting. She said it’s a going through delivery inspection and hasn’t been delivered yet. I asked her about the center caps and she said she Tesla just started adding them before delivery. I asked her if I could get a set for my Beast and she said she didn’t have any info on status of wheel caps or wheel covers.

I wish I would have taken a picture but if Tesla is now shipping these trucks with center caps, 1) there must be a way for us owners to get them too, and 2) it tells me the redo of the wheel covers must be a long way off. What do you guys think?

I went to my local SC in Utah about 3 days ago. The employee there said it’s insider information pretty much but that Tesla is 100% discontinuing the original hub cap. Said they made a version that stuck out more so it didn’t touch tire as much but it was affecting range and tire still. He said the original hub cap is scrapped. The one that sticks out onto tire (legit my fav look and wheel out of anything) And they are going to include hubcaps now that fill the center but don’t extend into tire area at all. I think the new hub cap looks way worse than the bigger one that was ruining tires. Unfortunately this confirms that I will buy new wheels with my CT now when it comes soon

Service Center employees wouldn't know that one way or another.

Interesting!!

I’m close to delivery of a FS AWD 11xxx. Very curious to see if those show up on mine!!

Though I do hope that the full covers aren’t discontinued. They look so great.

That’s unfortunate, I really liked the design as well. What’s worse is that the tire sidewall design looks odd without the wheel cover. I’m sure they will redesign the tire now that the design no longer serves a purpose. Maybe it’s worth changing to the all seasons.
