Is anyone getting "Invitations to Configure" recently?

I have two very close friends that reserved in late December 2019, neither of which want their reservation. Don’t know if it’s possible for them to transfer to me whether it’s the reservation or selling me the car (both will wait until regulation production and not FS if so) and neither have been invited to configure yet.

I ordered January 2, 2024 with RN1207. So I am not hopefully about that

Your RN I am guessing is quite some time off.

My understanding is you cannot transfer RNs or accounts or risk getting banned.

You can wait for the used market to cool off (once the non-FS comes out, things should drop a bit in mid 2025.) or hang in there if your current car isn’t falling apart / know that you’ll probably get a better and cheaper cybertruck than anyone else here by waiting

of course it’s impossible to predict with precision, but depending on conversion rates it sounds like getting the vehicle mid or late next year isn’t crazy.

Yeah, you preordered it this year. I think you are ways off unfortunately. I preordered it 5 days after the event and it cost me 5 months to get my invite.

isn’t that already a known fact with the number of reservations? I don’t know what this is telling me

This would be a bit frustrating. RN113086xxx and, based upon the registered orders, I am expecting an invite within the next week or two.

It would be tough to get so close to an invite only to have to go back in the line and wait all over again for at least another year before the possibility of seeing my CT.

That’s pretty wild.

The event was the evening of 11/21/19… you preordered less than 2 weeks later, and you haven’t gotten a config email yet now 6 months into production.

I’d imagine you’ll be called within a month or so, but it seems like a scenario where only people who preordered can buy it into 2026 is feasible.

I would imagine the list is getting larger now as people see it on the roads and want one.

Things were moving along at a very predictable rate up until early April around the time of the pedal recall. Since then, there has been a dramatic drop off. My hope is that it is not actually going to change the timing of when I finally received my truck just that it will be a shorter time between configuration and Delivery.

My RN is 11282 and I ordered on 2/2 and still don't have a VIN. I think you will be waiting a bit for your VIN. IMO

What was your timeframe on configuration? I don’t think I’ve heard of a VIN being assigned so quickly. Especially not less than a month from config date.

Yeah, configured on 4/26 and got an April-June estimate still, even though I was at the end of April it seemed. Hoping that is true.

Not that its the end all, did talk to the Austin SC while adjusting financing over the phone and they stated its seems delivery ETA is end of May, but that could vary, but should definitely have a VIN by end of May the advisor told me. Don't know how true that is of course.

We'll see. In the past VINs did take a long time but production was way slower than it is now.

I'm 11316 and I honestly expected it by now with way it was progressing. But last week didn't appear to not have any invites, so who knows? But we have to be just right there.

Not sure the timing, but I waited 5 days to preorder, and got my invite on 4/30. 5 days=5 months. Which really sucks. Sometimes I still wonder why I waited 5 days to preorder. I'd have the Beast by now.

I ordered the morning after and I've been waiting for my Beast's VIN since January.
