Maybe you can request that they release this vehicle and give you the next one available. Although given that this is the Beast model there might not be one for a bit.

My biggest issue is they won't give me any idea of what's wrong. I guess as long as they fix the issue, it doesn't matter what was broken, even if it was something material. But the act of saying "it's a broken speaker" or "air suspension needs complete replacement" at least gets me an idea of the timing.

If it takes past the 3rd, my trade in offer expires and I need to make a payment for both the truck I don't own and the truck I shouldn't own. It's starts to get really messy then. Additionally, if they drop the value on my trade, that might officially make this a refund request scenario.

No matter how much you put down, $700/month is the interest on a $110k purchase. If I understand correctly, you have paid for the vehicle, but no vehicle is available for you, that sucks! Tesla should not have asked for the check, and you should not have given them the check, if they did not have a vehicle to give you. Unfortunately, once you have a cashier's check in hand, you are paying the interest. You need to go into the showroom and find the main guy to make it right. The problem is there is no clear path how they can make it right other than giving you a perfect CT now. I am so sorry this happened. Seems like Tesla is the guilty party because they accepted a check from you, but knew they had nothing to give you in return.

That’s most likely not the desired outcome, but if the situation continues to get worse, that option is at least there. Hopefully, Tesla does the right thing and does give some sort of credit/refund for this situation especially with requiring insurance and loan to already be in place before delivery.
Don't let the wording of the agreement fool you; they use "delivery" in vague terms because they don't want the general public to know the letter of the law in cases like yours where they fall way behind. In every state in the U.S. where you have made financial arrangements and they haven't delivered your purchased product, that is called theft. Don't care about individual state nuanced laws.

Did I read correctly that they accepted your payment? If so, then I would go to the service center where you are supposed to accept delivery and ask to speak to the sales manager about an urgent matter. I would be absolutely blunt with them and say that if they don't give you some real answers today, then you are going to file a police report so that you can get your bank loan refunded, and the vin number will be reported as stolen.

I love Tesla, but accepting money and not delivering is actual theft. This wouldn't be an issue if they were keeping close communications with you. Your case needs to be a shot across the bow to Tesla HQ/Corporate.

They stated payment must be made to them and insurance in place by 5/7, the date the truck arrive on site, or else I am not accepting the vehicle. Payment was delivered 5/1 or 5/2 (not certain, bank initiated the wire) and I started the insurance on 5/7 as instructed.

Now I see the behind the scenes workings of the delivery center. They mandate the payment and insurance before they do their inspection. I assume 9 out of 10 times they receive a vehicle that is ready to be delivered and this is a non-issue. When the vehicle does not pass inspection and parts need to be ordered, this system is rigged against the buyer.

I'm losing hundreds of dollars, waiting for an unknown amount of time, to take delivery of a vehicle which has an unknown problem. I had zero issues with the CT waiting when it wasn't costing me money or potentially giving me a lemon, but the last 24 days have been exploitative. If you live in a state where you must pay in advance, buyer beware, Tesla can really screw you.

EDIT: Tesla also said "we are waiting for paperwork" as the reason no delivery date could be set around the 7th. They did not tell me until about 10 fays later the truck had an issue. Which means one of two things. (1) They took 10 days to do paperwork and didn't even look at the truck, so the problem wasn't identified until it had already been on the lot (paid in full and insured) for nearly 2 weeks. Or (2) they knew there was an issue closer to 5/7 and they lied about a "paperwork" delay as long as they could, before it no longer made sense.

"...this system is rigged against the buyer."
It sure does seem like it, and you case needs to be run up the flagpole. Either way, Tesla has lied about something here. And that's not ok.

Frustrating part for me was the bait-and-switch financing when I have a 813-830 credit score that I ended up paying cash.

Maybe a blessing in disguise as ai'll be sweating bullets everytime amortization is due.

Paying cash is a one-time pain point.

Delivered in 3 days from advise in my case.

Except hand over is, adjust seats, steering wheel, side view mirrors, rear view mirror is on screen -- the rest, you figure out yourself via apps manual.

But a month+ ownership and no issues.

Oh yeah, I always been lucky. My Chinese friend said because I was born in the year of the dragon and wants to rub my shouldee everytime he hits the tables.

May you please let me rub your shoulder? I see now that's what I'm missing.

My delivery representative called me and just confirmed "there were service issues when the truck arrived, this is the cause for delivery delay."

I guess this is better than sending me off the lot with a lemon, but not what I wanted to hear. I was promised the truck won't be given to me until is it in perfect shape, but they didn't have any other details on what was the "service issues." They said the repair timeline is unknown, it could be weeks.

It looks like a lot of trucks in the 8000-9000 VIN range are having issues. I wonder if the ramp to 1,000 trucks a week was too much to manage. Or maybe with the layoffs there was manufacturing disruption.

I asked if there would be any consideration given to me, since I am now paying multiple insurance policies and interest on multiple vehicles. They said they'd review my request, but my expectations are low at this point.
just picked up mine last week, i have no sound via bluetooth from or to my phone and voice command doesn't work.. im in the 9xxx range vin number also

Maybe I'm just reading between the lines, but I really do think this has something to do with the layoffs. Not sure if knowledge experts were let go or if there was low morale on the line for the 9000s, but seems like there's more duds than there should be in this specific range. The date of production would line up directly with the news stories of Tesla letting people go.

I offered to do this, the request was rejected. This is a direct copy and paste from my text messages with my representative, "We prefer payment through the Tesla App using Plaid which acts as an ACH from your bank account directly to your Tesla account. We do require full payment prior to delivery, and cannot accept a check same day. You can mail us a check with your DMV documents once we send those."
Doesn't seem right.... My text rep said that in person cashier's check is just fine.

My son's remaining contact in Tesla did confirm demoralization and the hallowing out of knowledge and experienced staff, incidentally the higher paid and competent people.

From what I’ve been reading about OP’s situation, they would be picking up at the Oneida (Verona) location in NY state. NY is a state in which Tesla can’t sell/deliver directly (at least outside of the NYC area), but Tesla has found a loophole in the state by being able to sell on tribal lands. My Cybertruck order’s delivery location appears to also be at the Oneida location. Tesla has sent me a text message explaining the stipulations on deliveries to the Oneida location, which are kinda sketch, and I absolutely agree with OP in that this allows Tesla to screw you.

Here’s a copy of the message Tesla sent me:
Tesla Cybertruck Truck Delivered With Service Issues - Hold on Sale IMG_1411

Now, their message states you can reply NO to have the vehicle sent down to their Mt Kisco location. I had replied with that, but nobody seems to actually read any of the messages I send even though, I’m constantly getting reminder texts every day to complete actions on my order and am always replying back with my questions. There is no phone number listed for this delivery location either on Tesla’s site, so it’s been impossible (at least for me) to get any question answered.

Now, I’m able to schedule a delivery appointment, which I believe is because I’m financing through Tesla. With the lack of communication and being able to talk to someone to get any of my questions answered, I really don’t know how Tesla expects me to just schedule a delivery appointment. This is absolutely sketch.

Yesterday it was confirmed they needed to replace the halfahaft on my CT, which was delivered 5/7 and is still in the shop and undeliverable. The part has come in, but repair is not completed and delivery date still unconfirmed.

I know this part is a real issue on the Model X, with some people needing repairs many times. I'll need to keep my eye on this one, might be a reason not to keep the truck outside of warranty.
