I made the reservation in 2022 and it looks like I'll receive it in May of 2025.
Oh ok, I thought you place your order already. Just the reservation.

I wish! I'll just wait impatiently and rent one from time to time. I rented an AWD CT in March and it exceeded ALL of my expectations regarding Cybertuck.

I mostly keep the AWD in Chill because it's way too enthusiastic for a heavy truck in Sport if you don't want to have constant focus on control. The CB acceleration would be silly for daily use and not worth the trouble or money unless that's specifically what you are into, just like those who garage ultra high-performance sports cars. People are welcome to their expensive hobbies, including Monster Trucks. ?
Haha that's awesome. You're talking to a guy who drag races 1/4 and 1/2 miles all the time in 700-1k+ whp vehicles, and used to have a Supercharged Silverado SS with 890whp that would demolish supercars off a stoplight (not to mention a Raptor and TRX recently) We are two different animals indeed! That's why it's great Tesla has options for sure!

Everyone is different. I was having a hard time deciding but am now super happy with the AWD I got.
For me, its crazzzy fast enough. I would launch beast mode a couple times if i had one and then know how that feels and not use it much again..
I would love a ride in a CB but for everyday use, prefer the AWD
same...my AWD is batshit fast compared to anything I've ever driven except maybe our X (yet the X feels cushier and as a result not quite as fast).

Another perk the the beast vs the AWD is 12mo SC vs only 6mo SC for the AWD

I don't doubt that at all, but that's not going to sell hundreds of thousands of trucks, and like to the social media influencers, very few when the next fad comes along, probably already salivating for Roadster 2. ?

Keep in mind just how popular the Plaid trim is though!! Many people like the best and fastest option and don't have any issue paying more.

Roadster 2 is funny, cannot even believe people were sending $250K cash to Elon 7 years ago for that vaporware... imagine what that money would be worth now properly invested. Total scam and there is still no ETA. No doubt it will be 10 years since those deposits were stolen before people get the cars.

Based on that timeline, you'll have the "opportunity" to give Tesla interest-free loans .. er... "Deposits" in 2030 and you'll have Roadster 3 in 2040-2045

Sweet deal..!

Even though it has gotten incredibly cheaper it is still not selling hundreds of thousands of them.

The dual motor is the AWD and yea they have started deliveries long ago
I am Dec 3rd and 113 order # Last report I got from an insider at Giga Texas was the 3rd quarter 2024. I was in the Q to be built then. Many offers to upgrade but I ignore them for what I wanted.
Thank you for your response

I've had the Beast since December 2023 and it's simply incredible. I also have an S Plaid and I can attest the Beast's steer by wire / 4 wheel steering is second to none.

One time after a software update, the Beast defaulted to Sport Mode and I instantly thought something was wrong. Beast mode is THAT noticeable. I would highly recommend a Beast over a AWD - if that fits your budget and you enjoy the sportier performance

mechanical lockers in front and rear (AWD) are better than mechanical front, software rear (Beast),
I don't believe this is true in the case of the Beast vs the AWD. Assuming for this conversation that purpose of a locker is to make sure all power is available to either tire on a given axel, each rear beast motor is roughly the equivalent of the single motor in the AWD, so I doubt very much that the power available to a single tire in the back of either the beast or the AWD is all that different. Add to it that the software locker is activated in several of the off-road modes automatically and there is an added benefit of not having to pause to get things rolling.
I do think it would be a fair statement to say that a Beast with a rear mechanical locker would be better (if better equals more power available to each wheel) than a Beast with SW lockers. Bet between the current Beast and the AWD, at worse they are a wash, and perhaps other SW capabilities are available for the Beast to make it better.
