The edges are not sharp.
This is an outright false statement, as evident by the number of people that posted here in this very forum.

Why are you going around spreading lies and FUD about this? It's a safety issues and it needs to be fixed as fast as possible.

In what universe is 1.6mm considered sharp? ?

Go ask the guy who just recently slit his wrist on it. He can articulate if there was a sharp edge or bur in the panel.

(In other words, you're being incomprehensibly ridiculous about this.)

I found a small burr on one of my panels. 5 seconds with a piece of emery cloth fixed it. I agree, Tesla should deburr the panels more thoroughly, but I find it laughable how some people have elevated this to something terrifying.

By the same way of thinking, all books should be banned because they might give you a paper cut. Yes, people have bled to death from a paper cut on their wrist, that doesn't mean I'm afraid of paper.

Just laughable how seriously some people take the smallest risk. Have they never done anything that was truly dangerous? I can cure them of their fear of sheet metal with one ride on my Ducati. Here, hop on back, I'll show you what danger is! ?

If you don’t have your CT then you don’t know the issue properly. The door edges can cut deep. I have thought of some type of edge guard for the doors. I believe there is an “edge” hazard. I have been extra careful around my truck and warn any passengers. If there isn’t a safety pressure cut off for the frunk….i think it will cut off any object in its way. Fingers included. The front panels are 3/16” higher than the frunk in its closed position. Just like a blade waiting for the frunk to close. I will have to test mine today and see if it stops on any pressure resistance. Perhaps a smoked sausage or beef stick can imitate a couple of fingers. I’ll report back on the results
I've already done the finger test. My conclusion is my frunk couldn't harm a dinner roll. I'm afraid to try the same test on my F-150, that hood weighs a ton! Yikes! Unless it's a Cybertruck, keep your fingers clear of truck hoods!

I'm curious how your test turned out yesterday. No results?

Yes, you should ask him.

You can also cut, gouge and scrape your skin on uncountable numbers of hard surfaces, they don't have to be defective or sharp to do so. I know this because I am klutzy enough to do it all too frequently. Anyone who's ever stepped barefoot on Legos can understand, but that does not mean the product is defective, dangerous or needs to be remediated, just that you should watch where you are walking barefoot.

I didn't imagine you would keep equating slicing your wrist on a sharp vehicle panel in a Tesla showroom to stepping on a Lego, but here we are.

Well of course you didn't imagine anyone would compare your nonsense to the real world or you wouldn't keep posting it ...or would you? ?

Totally don't need your help with that. I understand what's going on here quite well. ?
Apparently you don't if you are going around lying. It's extremely annoying.

I've seen a CT a few times in person up close (at a showroom) and the edges didn't seem sharp to me at all. Maybe there are occasional burrs?

If there is a potential for them to be sharp, I'm surprised that Tesla hasn't introduced a new process step to quickly sand/file the edge. Seems like it would be a relatively quick/easy process to take a file or stone to the perimeter of each panel.

I tried it by myself, it is indeed not sharp enough to cut the skin. So i am a little confused.

You have to take reality into account, such things mass, motion, hardness and elasticity. You could bash your brains out against the Cybertruck doors if you bang hard enough.

JUST TO BE CLEAR: That's a cautionary warning, not a suggestion. ???

That's possible, and I am sure they do have an inspection and correction process. Mistakes can and do happen, and they get reported. Stuff can happen between the shop floor and the customer. All such ought to be caught in service center delivery preparation, but that has definitely been a weak spot. I found an extra clip in my frunk and a sheet metal screw in the back seat. They have been under pressure though from all of us who have been waiting so long, the Cybertruck is new to them and they have said it takes 3 times as much time and effort as the other vehicles they deliver.
