Thank you for posting this! I used a P1S with PETG-CF. Came out great. Auto support just filled in that angled piece which was relatively easy to pop out.

I used petg-cf but it couldn’t withstand CA summer heat so i switched to use pa6-cf.

Thanks for the heads up. If it doesn’t hold up I’ll retry with this!
I improved the model to have better cosmetic. Also updated print parameters:
  • Layer height:0.16
  • Enable support (tree auto)
  • Top surface pattern: rectilinear, 5 layers
  • Top surface pattern: rectilinear, 5 layers
  • Sparse infill density: 50%
You should change the support angle to 29% so Bambu Studio should slice the model like the following pics for easy to print.

OP: Question: Is there any new 3D print file I should download other than the second (newer) one provided on page 3 of this thread? Or is it just the 3D printer settings to adjust on the existing model?

You need to download the latest file from Printable link. You don’t need to reprint if the current one still works for you.

The R8 is a little front heavy and sags/flops. Maybe a longer arm would help? Luckily I couldn’t get my old mount off and am using that to stabilize the back

I don't think it matter as the whole tonneau is not a solid metal surface. The radar signal can easy go through it. However it will block laser frequency but it doesn't matter as you are screwed when police use laser gun.
Nope!

Uniden has had laser detection since V5? IDK for sure I didn't have the good sense to switch away from all those lessor brands like Cobra, Passport, Escourt, etc. Until Uniden 6.

Besides Laser is only line of site and usually from a stationary location. If you are not slowing down for parked cars along road ways you're idiot and you deserve every ticket.

Hey!

Where are all the moralistic, 1/2-my-age fuddy-duddies?!

I was exited by the chance I could remind them how Virginia is always looking for more law abiding immigrants. That's the only state in the nation who doesn't want you to know when you are under surveillance.

And then I was hoping I could work the other side of the street by promising I'd spend real money for one of you whiz kids to help me defeat my 114mph governor. Cuz with that sweet, sweet, air suspension, and stear by wire handling, 100 mph I'm my CyberTruck feels like about 65 mph. Or you know 114 mph in everything made in Germany... that's not a Tesla. LOL!

Utah!

...oh wait I mean 'Merica!

...but also, UTAH!

Thanks! What was the issue with the current one before the updated printable file?
Nothing wrong, just cosmetic improvement at the base. Also, it moves the angle a little up so when mounting radar detector, it is sag much.

Laser detection is useless for me. During 5 years of using Uniden R7, it has only detected laser couple times and in those time, police official already locked in my car. If you are speeding, you will get ticket with laser gun.

Because you are using not strong material, so it doesn't hold well. What kind of material you are using?
