BALANCING FORM & FUNCTION

At Mars, we don’t believe you should have to choose between form and function. While developing accessories for the Tesla Cybertruck, we faced challenges due to Tesla’s design choices aimed at a sleeker and futuristic design. These choices presented unique challenges in creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing system.

After extensive iterations and rigorous testing on our own vehicles, we are proud to introduce a crossbar design that harmoniously complements the Cybertruck’s exterior. Our innovative solution offers versatile mounting options without compromising on style or ease of installation.

ALL-METAL CONSTRUCTION FOR THE TRUE CYBERTRUCK SPIRIT

The MARS™ Expedition Crossbars are crafted from 6061 Aluminum, aligning with Cybertruck's ethos by avoiding any exterior plastic components. We understand that anything less would be "anti-Cybertruck."

HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL AND VERSATILE

Designed for performance, The MARS™ Expedition Crossbar boasts a large contact surface area and multiple T-slots for secure and versatile attachment points. Whether you're attaching heavy loads or delicate equipment, our crossbars are engineered to handle up to 220 lbs., adhering to Tesla's specifications outlined in their official service manual.

SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATES WITH MARS™ ACCESSORIES

Experience unparalleled compatibility with our universal rooftop mounting connector. This feature ensures seamless integration with other MARS™ accessories, including the Side Rack, enhancing your Cybertruck’s utility without sacrificing aesthetics.

FLEXIBLE PURCHASING OPTIONS

Choose the perfect setup for your needs: opt for a pair designed to span the glass canopy or cover the truck bed. The price displayed includes a pair of crossbars, offering you flexibility in customization and utility. If the combination you need isn’t listed, simply select “Customized Combination” at checkout and email your preferred pairing (e.g., Crossbar 1 & 4) to [email protected]. We’re here to ensure your setup is exactly as you envision.

Due to overwhelming demand, our 1st batch has completely sold out! We’re working hard to restock, and new orders are now estimated to ship around July 15. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your support and patience.

honestly that looks pretty good! I always thought it'd be difficult to mount a long kayak on Cybertruck ...

I love the cutouts … it makes dropping t-slot nuts so much easier. Too bad you guys are out of stock.

@Mars Adventure Gear

Bolt hardware material used?
Are you referring to what hardware we use to mount the kayak to the crossbars? Just standard kayak mounting hardware we bought on Amazon.

The crossbar we sell comes with all hardware included in the kit to mount it on CT!

My use case is exactly carrying two kayaks. I can't quite tell in the pic - how many cross bars are you using in the demo picture? Are two sufficient, or would you recommend more?

I hate to say we cannot give an definite answer here since it really depends on your kayak and how you mount it (with just straps or with special kayak mounts). However, here's our recommendations:

  • in the tandem kayak setup we have, it's mostly bar 1 & 4 thats doing the work (maybe a little on bar 2???)
  • we'd recommend 3 just to be safe - we noticed the roof load rating from official Tesla service manual says 220 lbs. for 4 points (2 crossbars basically) which is on the lower end among utility vehicles. For stability and a bit more safety margin when mounting large items, we'd recommend 3. 2 is probably enough as that's what the rendering from Tesla demonstrated as well.

Gotcha, I think. Thanks. If I ever get my truck, I'll likely give you guys a call.

Also, are there special straps or connectors that can be installed into the 3 slots on the crossbars?

Those are standard t-slots framing with 15 mm width - you can grab those t-slot bolts on amaozn easily and we also ship crossbars with a bag of them for free. Hope it helps!

Looks very sturdy.

The few companies that are making Cybertruck racks are either making the cross bars or something that is a ladder rack (generally on steroids). No one is making a system that supports both a form-hugging crossbar and a ladder rack (perhaps with vertical extensions). I wonder why. That is what I am looking for.

I also wonder whether the cross bar could have a t-slot on both the top and bottom. Sometimes I want to 'hang' items below the rack.

Is it possible to make cross bars that can be removed easily when not in use, or is this just not practical? I ask because I do not want to have a rack on my truck all of the time.
