Switched tires and got my VIN!

I configured my CT on 5/31/2024. My configuration was for Tactical Gray and All Season Tires. I decided to switch back to All Terrain tires after realizing that Tactical Gray was going into production (6/30/2024) but there was still no word on All Season production. After dozens of unanswered phone calls and unanswered text messages I decided to stop in at the Tesla Service Center in Jacksonville, Florida on July 1st. The sales rep placed a request to have my RN switched back to AT tires. Within minutes I received confirmation of the change. Today (July 2nd) I received and completed an insurance request from Tesla. Within minutes I received my VIN number!

Does having a VIN mean the CT is actually complete? Or, does it mean it is slated for production? How long can I expect to wait for delivery to Jacksonville, Florida?

It means it's built, could even be in the area. If not, it will take a couple weeks to get there.

Awesome! thank you. I know the tactical gray only went into production last Friday and there were no gray interiors at the lot as of yesterday. So, it might be a few weeks yet. I run I-95 northbound for about 36 miles daily. I usually see between 5 and 13 CT's a day on car carriers heading to Miami.

How were you able to do the insurance request without the VIN? It’s disabled in the app for me, and says once a VIN is assigned I can provide the insurance request.

Same here. That is exactly what my insurance icon said as well. When I logged in today, I got a disclaimer that certain functionality on the CT was not resident yet and for me to acknowledge and agree. Once I did that it prompted me to go to the insurance icon and complete insurance information. When I went there, it wanted a copy (pic) of my current policy (I live in Florida) including company #, policy number, and expiration date. It said the expiration date had to be at least 60 days in the future. After I did that, I went to my configuration and there is now a Vin number in the configuration detail.

Ok. So it probably was there before you did the insurance thing, but that was the next step, and it prompted you when you logged it(just guessing)
Also do you remember what “functionality” wasn’t considered resident for FL?

I wish I would’ve paid closer attention to the acknowledgment. I believe it had to do with the self driving capabilities, auto summon, etc..

It just basically said those features yet aren’t available but will come.

I’ve had my configured since 4/21. Same options. Then switched to white. I’m betting it has to do with Location I’m in CO

Live in WA state. Anxiously awaiting delivery info!
