Tesla has just announced in Q2 2024 earnings report that:

“Cybertruck production more than tripled sequentially and remains on track to achieve profitability by end of year.”

And also that validation testing has begun for their first prototype Cybertruck produced with in-house dry cathode 4680 cells, which will result in a major cost reduction milestone once it's ramped.

Great news on the cost reduction, so the duel will be back to $48,000?

The dry cathode process is about the economics of battery production, not energy density.
From what I've read, dry cathode problem is make-or-break for 4680 form factor.

Yeah, and the F-150 Raptor R will be $39,995, down from it's current $110K before options. In 2023 a well optioned Raptor R was nearly $150K. That's a lot of money for a truck that can't tow or haul much and a shopping cart or errant baseball can do thousands of dollars of damage to faster than you can blink your eyes.

Oh, it will happen but just a friendly reminder to not believe everything you read out there. There are a lot of fake news stories based on unattributed sources.

Nice. Also, the best-selling electric truck in America has a nice ring to it. It was only a couple of years ago that people were saying that Ford and Rivian had stolen the "first mover advantage" from Tesla in the electric truck market which doomed the Cybertruck to be a niche product.

Never mind that the narrative never made an ounce of sense to begin with. Tesla naysayers will try to amplify anything they think will sound bad for Tesla, they don't care about reality.
