I am curious if they have stuff like basic audio and optional tonneau or even PowerShare being an optional software addon.

Really wont know the value of the FS until the non-FS pricing comes out.
You are right. I hope they keep both FS and non-FS for some time period so that reservation holders can decide which one to pick based on the specs and price. I really hope they keep current specs for $80K, but it’s more of a wishful thinking than real prediction! If they remove features such as ventilated seats, premium audio, etc, I might go back to FS if there is an option at that point.

The FS trucks appears to be ending soon and “normal” versions will likely start production shortly. However, Tesla being Tesla I predict a catch will be involved and it will be a big one.

My prediction is that non-FS AWD and CyberBeast trucks will be offered at $80k and $100k respectively BUT Tesla will initially make Full Self Driving MANDATORY during the initial non-FS launch due to high demand. This mandatory option will eventually be dropped as buyer demand wanes for the Cybertruck.

The $79,990 AWD version will still qualify for the $7500 tax credit since software doesn’t count towards the $80k price cap.

Bottom line? It might be years before you can purchase a $79,990 Cybertruck with the $7500 federal tax credit.

I'm amazed that anyone who fits under the income cap for the tax credit feels that they can afford the CT.

A company continues to see sales at higher price points that customers are willing to pay. No shenanigans. Just business.

$90k for AWD with FSD.
Don't even pay attention to beast so don't care.
Will order again. Yeah I have a foundation order ready after owning one now. I honestly hope they don't start with existing foundation holders. Others have waited for the less expensive version. Yet if offered at my $90k minus some things in foundation, I would buy.

Isn't income cap is 300k?
Yes, for married couples filing a joint tax return the cap is $300,000. $225K for head of housholds and $150K for single filers.

Plenty of single men making under $100K buy 4WD full sized pickups costing over $70K which compares to an EV truck costing $79.9K with a $7.5K tax credit. And, if you ask me, the Cybertruck is far more compelling than a 4WD ICE pickup costing $70K plus (heck, CT is more compelling than an ICE truck costing over $120K, if you ask me). And the income cap for single men isn't $100K, it's $150K. While you could question the financial wisdom of buying a new pickup without being wealthy, I don't understand those who question how many takers there would be in this category. Obviously, plenty of $79.9K Cybertruck buyers will qualify for the tax credit.

My prediction is that the AWD does not qualify for tax credits.
FWIW a Tesla CSR told me last month that the cyber truck will not qualify for the tax credit due to it's weight regardless of price and domestic content. We had a long conversation on whether I should go ahead with a FS order or wait for the regular production. CSR sounded knowledgeable about all things CT related.

The gross vehicle weight limit is 14,000 pounds. Sounds like the CSR either didn't know what they were saying or trying to sell you a FS.

  • Meet critical mineral and battery component requirements (as of April 18, 2023)
This is the only aspect which people are speculating that the CT will not qualify or that the tax credit is ended with a new administration.

It's possible to manage reportable income from year to year. ;)
Good point. A 401k retirement plan, HSA and many other deductions will reduce your AGI (adjusted gross income). Max them out if you are near the cutoff.

I don't know where you guys are looking but the Tesla Cybertruck order cite says $100K for the AWD 2 motor & $120K for the Beast "3 motor". (see Pics) Two wheel drive in 2025.

$300,000 is pretty good income for a household (jointly) to still get the credit and afford a CT. Lots of variables also around what people have behind that income for security and assets.
