This ridiculous. Elon put assembly line on 4 days a week. Some of us paid our $$$ 6 months ago and still no truck. Has millions of reservations that won't be filled till 2035. He needs to put on 24/7 , 4 shifts to just get thru next 4 years. I bet there are supplier issues is why they are only doing a thousand a week max. Look at Joe's videos. Open to Canada and Mexico. 2035 maybe

On the original Foundation they gave you $4000 for installation of PowerShare. It looks like that is gone now so the price has increased $4000. Not insignificant.

I think too many people discount or just plain out don't understand how much of a gamble Tesla has taken on this radically different architecture. They are already struggling to keep up with service center volume for the other well established fleet models, but throw in a brand new, wildly different vehicle in the mix and it can make a mess very quickly.

Having said that, I think the above + battery development are really the true reasons for the slow, methodical ramp. Let's be real here folks, Tesla isn't going to tell the world their exact plans for volume production. It's practically a trade secret.

I want my truck just as much as the next guy, but I'll wait a few more months for them to continue refining the product. The "newness" factor is long gone; so now it's time for revision 1.5 of the product. I'll gladly take the delay over a bungled mess.

I will say, the recent news about the dry cathode process milestone is extremely promising!

There’s less than 30k CT produced. Less than 10k CB produced. Did all those multi-hundred thousand reservations really pass completely or delay for non-FS?

How could people be waiting for VINs for months yet a new order non invite still says an October - December delivery?

It can’t be the price only holding people back or the people don’t exist.

No doubt waiting for a vin for 141 days and seeing them accepting new orders and people getting vins in a couple weeks is just f’d.

Yesterday I was a somebody, received my invite for my second reservation, now I'm just a regular owner and invite.

As a reservation holder, you are receiving exclusive access to take delivery.

They ran out of reservations. This isn't an issue of slow ramp, it's an issue of not enough people wanting the additional upcharge for the FS. That's why they are opening up to Mexico, Canada, and anyone in the US without a reservation. You can get one as soon as this month if you order AWD, white, AT tires.

The people waiting are waiting for CB, Core tires, or grey interior.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but what I am talking about is the whole reason behind the "foundation series" in the first place was to give them breathing room to refine the product and ramp up the production, supply, and support lines. And yes, early adopters are late stage beta testers. This has been the case with every new piece of tech for decades.

I'm not guessing at this; I'm explaining. lol
