It’s called the R&D Series, not Foundation. Elon and Musk deserve to recover their expenses, now pony up that $100k to drive the future that no other manufacturer has….

Hopefully the CT pricing will remain no less than the $100K level so it will continue to sustain a premium product.Interesting. The site seems to only have Foundation series now and no mention of the regular versions,
I’m just hoping to be a “has been.”Yesterday I was a somebody, received my invite for my second reservation, now I'm just a regular owner and invite.
As a reservation holder, you are receiving exclusive access to take delivery.
FAKE !!! ??for all the 100k nay sayers, your other options are lightning and rivian. Everything else is 100k
They ran out of reservations. This isn't an issue of slow ramp, it's an issue of not enough people wanting the additional upcharge for the FS. That's why they are opening up to Mexico, Canada, and anyone in the US without a reservation. You can get one as soon as this month if you order AWD, white, AT tires.I think too many people discount or just plain out don't understand how much of a gamble Tesla has taken on this radically different architecture. They are already struggling to keep up with service center volume for the other well established fleet models, but throw in a brand new, wildly different vehicle in the mix and it can make a mess very quickly.
Having said that, I think the above + battery development are really the true reasons for the slow, methodical ramp. Let's be real here folks, Tesla isn't going to tell the world their exact plans for volume production. It's practically a trade secret.
I want my truck just as much as the next guy, but I'll wait a few more months for them to continue refining the product. The "newness" factor is long gone; so now it's time for revision 1.5 of the product. I'll gladly take the delay over a bungled mess.
I will say, the recent news about the dry cathode process milestone is extremely promising!
It’s not exempt unfortunately. Just processed my Canadian Cyberbeast order and got ~13k luxury tax added. No comments on how well the Liberals will be applying this additional tariffs. It's exempt.
Keep dreaming. 2025 will be a year filled with FS.
My guess is FS orders end Nov. 18th 2024 ..... What's your guess?
As per Sawyer Merritt.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but what I am talking about is the whole reason behind the "foundation series" in the first place was to give them breathing room to refine the product and ramp up the production, supply, and support lines. And yes, early adopters are late stage beta testers. This has been the case with every new piece of tech for decades. They ran out of reservations. This isn't an issue of slow ramp, it's an issue of not enough people wanting the additional upcharge for the FS. That's why they are opening up to Mexico, Canada, and anyone in the US without a reservation. You can get one as soon as this month if you order AWD, white, AT tires.
The people waiting are waiting for CB, Core tires, or grey interior.
