UGH!!!! Went out this morning and heard a “click click click” sound coming from the rear of the truck. It was all too familiar so I turned around and came home. Upon inspection found a screw in the rear passenger tire. I have an appointment at Costco to get the tire plugged. Have any of you had to have your tire plugged? I’m really hoping it’s not a replacement since you can’t buy these from anyone other than Tesla at this point.

On a traditional tire a patch on the inside is what I’d do but I’m not sure about these tires. I read there is a foam lining or something for road noise which might not let you patch it. Either way it looks repairable.

”Funny” thing is we were just looking at using our PowerShare voucher to get a spare tire along with a few other things. Of course in true form, by the time we decided to pull the trigger the spare tires were sold out.

Yeah looks patchable. If Costco denies it, go to America's Tire/Discount Tire. I love Costco but they can be a little weird with Tesla tires sometimes
Good point. I usually use Discount TIre but since they are closed on Sundays I picked Costco. I have a Monday appointment with Discount Tire just in case Costco says no.

If you do get a patch, might be of a interest to all how they deal with the foam if your tire has any.

Most places don't want to deal with foam. Just plug it yourself, takes 5 min.

I got a nail in my tire, they tried plug and patching it twice but there was still a tiny leak because the nail went in sideways, so they ordered a new tire, it’s like 512, wasn’t from Tesla just an awesome tire shop (Torello tire if anyone lives in CT). Don’t believe anything you hear about Tesla having exclusive tires, you can get any tire you want not from Tesla. This is the cybertruck tire from TireRack, it’s the same tire, has dual design sidewalls so the other side that’s not visible in the picture is the side that they put out on your truck.

The irony is I went to Tesla and they said they have to order it and it’ll be a couple weeks, I went to my tire place and it was there in a day

A standard plug should work with this and they’re only about 15 bucks. 10 minute job if you take your time.

Costco did a patch/plug for me on my old Model S with the foam inserts. They just cut the foam out where the patch goes, put the patch/plug in, then rebalance according...
