For me, My order changes was simply to accept that FSD was vision only, there was no order change as far as trim, tires etc.

The $1000 order fee is not refundable for any reason. Your $100 reservation cost is refunded.

I’m surprised by that if it’s correct, they have changed the terms of the order so they should refund as they‘re not delivering what I originally paid a $1000 deposit for.

Ah, that is the standard thing related to Tesla vision and future updates to enable features and such. It is unlikely they'll refund the $1000 because of that but godspeed.

So, update, Tesla want me to put the order on extended hold which I will probably do however they won’t commit to saying if my $1,100 already paid still applies.
Interesting language in their response “if/when information is made available for the non-Foundation series.” I’m surprised it’s not just a “when”.

After seeing several posts like this one, I am starting to see why Tesla is operating the delivery program for Cybertrucks the way they currently are, as compared to all other Tesla models previous or currently where a VIN is essentially assigned almost immediately upon order once the vehicle has begun manufacturing process.

Reasoning that Cybertruck Foundation Series being in such high demand, Tesla doesn’t want to commit to assigning a VIN until they know for certain an order will process and complete delivery - therefore waiting until a truck arrives, or is soon to arrive, to a certain service center before notifying the reservation/order customer of their VIN and possible delivery schedule.
