For cold weather, just get a heated blanket. A “heater” tends to have coils that run extremely hot and are a fire hazard. Not good for a tent.

Yeah one has to think about time in the tent vs. actually conditioning the space. If one is to sleep. Heated blanket is the best. Trying to condition the space for warm breathing or to prevent a cold nose. Might not be worth it.

Makes sense. So just an AC unit then

I'd suggest a unit that can sit to the side of the truck and just the cooler air in. That allows it to be much quieter. A unit in the tent would keep me awake.

I have this without the battery. Works great in small spaces such as the tent. What I like about it is the heating AND cooling.

There are limitations though. Unit stops working when ambient temps are above 122F.

I know, it's expensive. I thought there were more out there.

But you can also get one of the regular free-standing ones and just rig it to go through a duct. You may get lucky and find an AC vent that closely fits it's opening.

But you in all but the hottest days, it usually cools down enough that even a fan is enough to give you a cold overnight. My grandmother's house with a whole house fan would only run the fan for a few hours before having to turn it off.

I've also been on the lookout for cooling things off. Here's a few things to think about though before you pull the trigger:

AC takes a lot of energy. Yes the CT has tons, but if you want to be able to cool your tent without significantly eating into your range you may want to consider a solar generator. Works wonders for AC because it's typically sunny when you want to run it.

If sticker shock has you down (it should, AC, solar, and batteries are expensive!) don't let it stop you from camping! What we did in the old days is always still an option. Get to higher ground when it's hot, wait till winter to camp the valley areas.

Stay safe and happy camping!

Sorry, you asked for links!

Here are some I can second-hand recommend. I don't own this cooler but I know 2 people that have it and love it for their large tents:
https://amzn.to/3MuVSWm

As for a solar generator, (I know, you didn't ask... just in my head AC has to come with solar out of necessity) I can recommend this and use it personally for powering our fridge (not using ac, yet.), micro-charging the truck if we have extra, induction cook tops, lights, radios, ad nauseum. When you're ready, you can just hook up another 400w portable panel and you can power everything for an indefinite duration:

Edit: it just dawned on me... if you have the space you could always just bring a traditional black and decker portable AC--they're about 2' tall. Not sure why I hadn't thought of it before. This wouldn't work in the cybertent, but in a large ground tent might be a great option if you want to save some money: https://amzn.to/3Z9ToEE

I have this one.

Pricey but versatile and effective.

It’s a shame that we just don’t have a window that opens but there is a pending aftermarket solutions for that which I’ve also pre-ordered already.

Then with something like this you can heat/cool the vault fairly easily.

In the meantime, highly recommend zero breeze, if you can stomach the cost. It also has the ability to run for several hours off of its own battery so you can charge it while you’re driving up to wherever you’re headed and run it the hottest part of the day/night without having to drain your truck as was mentioned above. You can charge it’s spare battery directly from solar.

Super convenient, but convenience is very expensive in this space right now.

has anybody checked to see if there's a way to put a vent from the cabin to the trunk area with the electric boosting fan that might work.

The window is in the way. There is a thingy to capture a vent from the front... But right now it's not a very efficient solution.
