Hi, I talked to a lot of folks at the delivery centers and it sounds like it takes a couple of days to get one ready for delivery once it arrives.
They gotta print out that little name tag thing. They gotta put on the temporary license plate. They gotta wash and clean it.

OP for some reason that Riverside delivery center is very pushy on deliveries. I’m not sure why and they tend not to work with you. Next time see if you can get it delivered in Kearny Mess or Carlsbad. Those guys are much more flexible.

Good luck! Stick around and read up on what you will be missing from the greatest Truck ever made!
I was actually scheduled to take delivery in Carlsbad. Closer to me here in Temecula. Riverside was selected automatically out of the blue. I suspect it was a reject that they were trying to move. If they would have worked with me on delivery days I would have driven out to look at it and decide in person. Since they wouldn’t I passed it up. Didn’t help that the test truck in Buena Park was filthy with poor fit and finish. I haven’t ruled it out but just waiting. Foundation series seems a moot point at this stage. When I placed the order in December it made more sense. Now they are all over the place out here and not so novel anymore. I can’t justify the 20k up charge. I already have 100 solar panels and Enphase batteries so PowerShare isn’t needed. I was willing to pay the premium to have it early.

The CT is not going to replace my RAM but rather be for everyday use where a truck bed would be handy. I wasn’t expecting it to be a replacement. I was actually looking at a model S, Model X/Y and Lucid. But then the CT seemed almost like an SUV with a decent truck bed. It will never tow anything. That’s the RAMs job.

Quick question, I’m in the same position as you declined mine a couple of days ago, same issues but they put mine on extended hold as they called it but only until October 1st, how did you get March 25?
That was the longest they would offer when I asked. And apparently I can remove the hold at any point through the app. They said your allowed 5 holds.

When I got mine, they couldn't care less what day I came in to pick it up. they were very flexible and nice about it. To be rigid about a pickup date to the point they lose a sale sounds like utter nonsense.

Mine is on hold.

My only hesitance in picking it up are the motor issues. I am hoping these are resolved in the more recent VINs.
What motor issues? Some Cybertrucks owners were given opportunity to have motors swapped only because Tesla had a more efficient motor design than the original and they wished to implement (since May 2024) and every model since then has these new efficient motors installed off the assembly line.

There are several documented failures of motors leaving people either stranded or in need of a tow.

Do you have confirmation that the new motors are being installed on the new VIN numbers? Do you know if the problem is fixed and these new motors aren't failing?

Just the same that you can give or allude to information concerning “several documented” instances, without sources, is the same as myself indicating that I too have seen several instances or video evidence that this has occurred and rectified or acknowledged by Tesla. What is with all of this Fact Checking in society today?
Do your own research and you will soon find the answer as well.

Back in one of the other threads ”Dl_a139 Rear Motor Disabled. 60mph limit you also posted to, was a reply further down the conversation that answered your pleas as well.

This exact thing happened to me. My appointment was over a month out. I just texted in the app saying it was unsafe. So I dropped off my truck without an appointment. My service center gave me a loaner and two days later they were able to get it in and fixed.

The issue turned out to be a faulty inverter. Easy fix. Nothing wrong with motor. I would bet you have same issue.

The CT I picked up a few weeks ago represents my 5th Tesla and it is by far the best one yet.
2015 MS
2018 MS
2022 MX
2024 M3P (Highland) This is a VERY close 2nd…..
2024 CT
I am thrilled with the CT and it will be a near perfect vehicle for me when they get FSD in it.

BTW, I never could understand why people feel compelled to hide their full VIN. There is absolutely nothing nefarious anyone can do with your VIN #. It’s prominently displayed on each and every car regardless of the brand…….

I am surprised the reservation number question keeps popping up. I was a July 2019 reservation holder. (mid pack) and I got an invite months ago. I passed for a couple reasons. If you want as CT Foundation Series and are willing to pay that package price, I bet you could get one in a month.

I have gotten past the disillusionment that Tesla will offer the CT for anything less than the most that they can get at any given time. They will carefully manage supply, demand and features to extract as much profit from this desirable product.

Eventually the price may come down, but only with competition and falling demand. Sure the FS will end and we won't be required to buy the extras with that package, but as of today on the website we don't know the revised pricing. Will it come with Gen 3 batteries, ventilated seats, 15 speakers, what will the range be? If you want a CT in the next month, you will pay the most that Tesla feels they can get from you.
This is Business 101. Absolutely nothing new here…..

Steve, I too have several Teslas, of which one is a 2016 Model S90D just before the so called “2017 refresh” that now everyone eludes to as the more recent refresh that contains cars manufactured since 2020 or sometime around that year

My point is I am curious does yours still have the black nose cone that mine also has with the operational sunroof? I think these were by far the most outstanding model S’s built even after the Plaid versions with its included heated seats, winter package, supreme sound system with subwoofers and all ”real” leather and Alcantara interior and many other extras.

I own a Model X Plaid 2024 as well and yes it is fast but the driving and features inside my decked out model S 90D are becoming somewhat of a collectors edition (and still a load of fun to drive and puts me in mind of a Maserati looking from the front, and am curious if you would share photos or amenities included with your model S as well. - Bonus, I think its funny that the “yacht floor’ included in the Model S90D is now apparent also in the new Cybertruck, yet no one realizes it is actually called a Yacht Floor by Tesla when it used to be included in earlier S and X models.

Thanks..

I mean this is all great news. My purpose was not to challenge, but rather learn more. I'll be glad to watch the "now you know" videos. If you remember a specific one off the top of your head that talks about the motor issue, would appreciate if you can let me know.

I have my order on hold for a few months just to observe. It was a very difficult decision to reject my VIN, but the right one for me until I have time to research the issue and read more.
