Steve, I too have several Teslas, of which one is a 2016 Model S90D just before the so called “2017 refresh” that now everyone eludes to as the more recent refresh that contains cars manufactured since 2020 or sometime around that year

My point is I am curious does yours still have the black nose cone that mine also has with the operational sunroof? I think these were by far the most outstanding model S’s built even after the Plaid versions with its included heated seats, winter package, supreme sound system with subwoofers and all ”real” leather and Alcantara interior and many other extras.

I own a Model X Plaid 2024 as well and yes it is fast but the driving and features inside my decked out model S 90D are becoming somewhat of a collectors edition (and still a load of fun to drive and puts me in mind of a Maserati looking from the front, and am curious if you would share photos or amenities included with your model S as well. - Bonus, I think its funny that the “yacht floor’ included in the Model S90D is now apparent also in the new Cybertruck, yet no one realizes it is actually called a Yacht Floor by Tesla when it used to be included in earlier S and X models.

Thanks..
The ‘15 had the black nose with sunroof. The ‘18 had the mustache with the sunroof. Loved them both! I sure miss lifetime supercharging…… LOL!

Currently, I only still have the M3P and the CT..

This is Business 101. Absolutely nothing new here…..
Except they did target a price of 70. Got people excited and sold for 120. That is just a little in your face.

Yes. They did offer to reschedule but only within the next 7 days. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I’m on night call for the next week starting Monday. I did ask if we could reschedule for 8 days out when I’m off. They said no. 7 days out is the max they would hold it. If they would have worked with me on this, I probably would be getting it. But because they wouldn’t and I was leaning toward passing anyway, I wasn’t too upset and let it go. The farthest out I could pause was March 2025. They did say I‘m allowed up to 5 holds.
just to make sure I understand… They offered you a fast pick up so you can start driving your truck immediately and you declined it, then a seven day option up to five times? Your initial post reads like it was too soon to pick it up, but that info above me tells me you had 35 days… You just don’t wanna pay the price for the truck, nothing to do with Tesla.

They called stating to pickup Sunday. Told them can’t make it I’m working overnights until Monday September 9. They said can only extend out 7 days so I let it go. If they would have waited until the 9th I would have likely gotten it. They never offered 35 days so not sure where you’re getting that. In the process of placing it on hold I asked how long can I hold it. They said March 2025. I took that knowing I can always take off earlier if I want. At this point, I’m passing on FS because it’s just been too long. I’ll wait until they perfect things a little more and FSD is available.

Decided to pass. They literally notified me today on a holiday weekend. Pickup was automatically scheduled for tomorrow at 7:00 pm which wasn’t working for me. Pickup location is Riverside California. Hope someone enjoys it.
I got my email this morning to scheduled pick up . I may do Wed or Thur in vallejo.

I decided to hold off on my non-FS CT purchase as well.

The new 4680 cells are coming along with numerous other improvements over the next year. I decided to hold off until Q4 2025 or Q1 2026.

Hi, I talked to a lot of folks at the delivery centers and it sounds like it takes a couple of days to get one ready for delivery once it arrives. I'm not sure if that is because of all the other vehicles they are delivering or if the truck actually requires that much work.

When you take delivery, I'd advise you to look at everything you can, very closely.
When I took delivery of mine, which was the week after the CrowdStrike outages, I showed up at the dealership and they had no record that I was even coming even though the app had happily continued working through the workflow and telling me that I had a confirmed appointment. Of course it was impossible to get a human on the phone so I had to go on what the app told me.
All this to say - they got my truck from the staging lot, prepped and ready for delivery in around 3.5 hours. Definitely shouldn’t take a couple of days to prep a truck, especially when some of the typical prep tasks like polishing the spiderwebs out of the paint aren’t necessary with the CT.

I was told from the Tesla rep that the 1k put down was for FS only and would not be transferable to a non FS and I’m not the only one on here that was told that. I would double and triple check that.
I’m not surprised. Their answer keeps changing over time. They didn’t let me put my FS order on hold in Dec 2023 but they allowed it multiple times this year. I won’t be surprised if they didn’t allow 1K to be transferable before but now policy might have changed, which again can change in the future. Anyways, I have three more weeks to decide as my hold expires Sep 24th. I don’t think non FS will be available to order by then. If I cancel, I’ll consider that as saving $99K instead of losing $1K, and if I order then I’ll be driving my dream car for $99K! ?

Tesla is wild! Never have I ever had an experience like this purchasing a vehicle.

So last week I was told my truck would arrive on the 1st and from there I would schedule a pick up delivery date, today I get a txt saying I needed to schedule my delivery so I go in the appt and they have 4 days available with the last being on Saturday.

I have appointments and meeting lined up for work the rest of the week since I took Monday off and I coach youth football on Saturday so none of those times would work

Immediately this thread comes to mind so I msg Tesla in the app and let them know the days they have available wouldn’t work and if I could schedule it next week or at the very least Sunday …

I received a msg about 2 hrs later …. They said that was an automated txt that was sent to me and to disregard it because my truck was still in transit!!

Now what if I didn’t msg them and cancelled work and scheduled my delivery on the appt? I would went there only for them to tell me my truck wasn’t there yet or wasn’t ready .

Always confirm before you go. Being far from a delivery center, perhaps this was something I considered a must-do.
