Two weeks ago, I went on a two-day offroading trip with several friends, it was pretty hardcore, rock crawling, sand, etc. Got stuck twice, more on that in another post. Damaged the truck a bit, and received a lot of scratches on the trim pieces and the wrap on the side of the truck.

The other day I was looking at PPF wraps to potentially add another layer of protection, and then came across this wrap from Vvivid called the Indestructible. After some research and watching some videos on Youtube, I decided to give it a try and the result is pretty good.

So far I've only done the 4 fender flares, planning on doing the mirrors and the rocker panels, and the front/rear bumper as well. But due to the heat wave here in Sothern California I decided to delay that plan for another week.

For each fender flare, it took about 1.5-2 hours to wrap, it's tricky for the first piece but I would say it's pretty easy if you are a DIY person.

It looks pretty cool in my opinion, looks like and touch like truck bed liner, should be scratch resistent and if a piece is damaged, replacement for another piece will probably take like 20 minutes to do.

I'm not gonna lie, I've been thinking about doing my whole truck in this exact vinyl. I've only heard good things about it so far.

Looks great!

Edit: for the curious, this is the product @codeater is talking about. It's had very good reviews on Amazon for being affordable and extremely tough while looking good in the process.

Looks pretty badass! I've placed an order to test it out myself. Could you update us on how the adhesive holds up after a few weeks? From my experience, maintaining strong adhesion on plastic, especially in hot temperatures, can be challenging. Past attempts with VVivid vinyl didn't hold up as well compared to 3M and Avery, which also struggled on those fenders. I'm particularly keen to hear about your experience from 2 to 8 weeks in

The only thing to note is the thickness, it's not gonna act nicely around sharp edges, I had to wrap excessive amount of extra area to the inside of the trim, to keep it from coming back up.

How do you think close trimming would hold up? Similar to how window tint is done.

The texture could really hurt your range, in my Model S I could gain a few miles after a fresh wax. This could really disturb the airflow significantly. But then again it might not, mythbusters did an episode on how a golf ball flies further because of the dimples, they applied it to a car, and it got better range. Just something to think about. Also I do t think it would look good on the whole truck, it’s like when Jeeps spray liner the outside, it just looks cheap, even if it is serving a purpose.

Yup, I have about 0% consideration for being pretty ? . I only got wheel caps because my wife kept bugging me that the wheels didn't look done, and even then I got the cheapest ones while they were on labor day sale haha

Though I do wonder about the range thing. I doubt fine texture would make an incredibly significant difference, but I'm not a fluid dynamics expert ?‍♂
If I lose a little range, might be worth peace of mind while scraping tree branches and creosote bushes

No problem, it's my first tine wrapping anything so it probably won't match professionally done wraps. What should I look for in terms of conditions, bubbles?

I did that for several sections where it is the only way to go, not feeling very confident it will hold for a long time, but we'll see.

I have had all of my Cyberbeasts' plastics completely wrapped with Stickercity's TOProtect textured vinyl wraps and I've been every happy with the results so far. My FS Cyberbeast's TOProtect warp is over 6 months old and they are like new. Zero issue. My second Cyberbeast was just wrapped with their latest gen TOProtect which provides even greater coverages than the older gen version. I highly recommend wrapping your plastics to prevent them from scratching up and they will.
