Got my cyber truck in February, was quoted a reasonable rate of $112 / month from Tesla insurance, just got the renewal six months later and it's now almost doubled to 200.

I only have 1500 miles on the truck.' Im in California so the safety score stuff doesn't apply, I drive very smooth anyway, but nothing aggressive.

Is this normal? Seems like I'm getting ripped off.

Seems like some kind of weird teaser rate or something.

Is anyone else having problems with massive rate increases through Tesla insurance?

I have State Farm and my quote was much higher than that, maybe I should switch to Tesla insurance just for the CT

I know some states have authorized insurance companies to charge more than double the rate from 2023. Wonderful isn't it? I know I didn't get a 100% raise this year (or a 26% raise as appears to be the national average for this year).

Get a quote from progressive, had a better rate than Tesla and USAA(which I had for 15 years, canceled due to the much higher rate. )

Unfortunately all CA rates are expected to raise by the end of the year, so this is not surprising.

Anyone who has ever had to improve Safety Score for FSD Beta should avoid Tesla Insurance. I got dinged bc of Freeway Meters. They always assumed I was following too closely ?‍♂

What factors does Tesla insurance use to raise your rates?

One of the reasons why I didn’t use Tesla insurance is their tracking system. I don’t want to be penalized for the occasional spirited driving.
This! The OP might have been doing spirited driving here and there

Nah my geico went from 220 on my M3P to over 1500. They clearly didn’t want to cover my Tesla. Switched to progressive added the truck and only pay 490 for both with higher coverages & I also drove some 50k miles a year so there’s that. I’m happy with the 490.

Rates are based off zip code, credit rating and previous history, and if I’m not mistaken if you file claims.

I'm in CA and paying Tesla Ins $138/mo for my Model X. I don't drive like a grandma but my safety score is still 90 so not sure what some of you are talking about. I had a Tesla Ins claim for a Model Y that was rear ended with $14K in damages and that was handled reasonably well by Tesla Ins and Tesla Repair Center.

The main reasons I drive a Tesla are the vehicles low cost to operate, reliability, performance and the Tesla App. I also have Tesla Solar and the App managesthat that as well. All things considered, Tesla makes EV ownership relatively inexpensive, easy and fun. Had I known back in 2021 Musk was going to turn from simply eccentric to a full blown ass hat, I would never have bought anything Tesla. I just have to keep telling myself, it is the company, not the person I am supporting ...

I received a call from Tesla Insurance yesterday asking me for a mileage verification on my cyberbeast and model Y performance.
I’m in California

my rate is going up about 40% next year from $300 to $420 per month

They no longer offer $100 deductible and the new minimum deductible is $500. This is for both comprehensive and collision.

Property damage is now limited to 500 K I previously had 1 million which was the maximum.

previously I had car rental limit set to $500 per day with a $7500 limit the new maximum is 125 per day and a $3750 limit

I have about 5k miles on my beast and 10k miles on the 23’ YP

I think something en else said the same thing a few weeks ago. Sorry to hear. USAA has been great.
You're lucky. USAA has gone to sh*t in FL. They are higher than every other carrier for auto and home. I have a clean driving record, and they are about 40% higher than everyone else. I know this has happened to several other people in FL; I thought it was national until now. I guess it's cause no one wants to insure in Florida anymore. ?

I've went with State Farm as they were the most reasonable.
