Tesla Cybertruck Lots of data being uploaded from the truck… 1725661349248-yr

I wonder what it is… could it be FSD training data being uploaded to s3? 400gigs worth of uploaded data is insane either way.

So weird. I’m showing the same. Why is Amazon upload all but 13 gigs of 275? Honestly asking as I don’t use anything Amazon in the truck that I know of. And it seems to be 98% of the data upload.

My best guess is that they’re uploading driving data to Amazon’s cloud storage.

Correct, Tesla is using Amazon web services. I too have been uploading insane amounts nightly. Hopefully they're training the models using my driving so it stops acting like a confused teenager on their first solo drive.

Thanks to both for your replies. Makes perfect sense.

I thought the same thing…but it shows “Amazon” along with all the other vendors, and not “Amazon Web Services” or AWS - which is distinct from Amazon the retailer. It’s probably correct, but we refer to AWS in the IT industry, not “Amazon.” The logo for AWS is different from what we see here.

That's probably an error on the part of the OPs router software.
If I dig deeper than just this alert in Firewalla, I can see specific AWS paths.

My CB is being delivered in 3 days and I specialize in tcp/ip traffic analysis so I will analyze the traffic from my firewall logs and try to post findings here if I do not forget to do so. Amazon is likely their choice because of either S3 and/or Glacier, but that might not be easily determined since it probably hits an array of front-end EC2 servers first, and then goes from there depending upon what Tesla needs to do with the data.

I am looking forward to what you find out. I’m no TCP/IP expert so I’ll benefit from your analysis. Sure seems like a lot of data!
