I pre-measured my garage before buying my home to ensure this truck would fit but my clearance is still only about 5-6 inches and it’s nerve-racking pulling in at night. Currently, I have a cone that I intentionally hit to guide me but it’s a little difficult to see on the camera and could shift. In addition, I have a concrete post wrapped with a foam cushioning mat as well as styrofoam over my HVAC tubing. I also just ordered parking stoppers but they may also slide or be too small for these giant tires. I’m looking for safe and easy ways to park in the garage and was wondering what others have done.

If the cone was near the center of the vehicle, I'm not sure why you would have a problem seeing it.

I have a flat whit wall, but there tends to be a bag like a Tesla Mobile Connector, but a little bigger, laying against the wall. I have absolutely no issue backing up to within an inch of the bag, using the tailgate camera. I basically just backup until the black of the bumper is adjacent to the black of the bag

A trick i know of is putting a string through a tennis ball and hanging it from the ceiling from a hook. You cut the length of string just so it hits the front of the car or the windshield or some other part when you are in perfect position. Can’t be knocked out of place and the tennis ball won’t hurt the vehicle. Usually for head-in parking though and you appear to reverse into parking spots (as do i) so YMMV.

Cheers

Laser park system on Amazon.

Fosmon, Wider Angle Upgrade, Dual Laser Garage Parking Assist Guide System, 360-degree Adjustable Parking Sensor with AC Adapter and Battery Backup for Car/Automotive https://a.co/d/1V5hb1H

No tennis ball string to run into when walking around. No sliding parking blocks... I've used one for years on many different cars on both sides of my garage

Yep - This.
I have a spot on my dash that I pre-measured. As soon as the laser dot hits it - perfect!

I've tried the laser and tennis ball previously. They both work and I still have them. I settled on the parking stop duct taped and outlined on the floor (I could drill it into the concrete). Works for both of my vehicles. I pull in slowly. After pulling in so many times, I have a good feel for the distance without it.

I had never heard of the laser before, excellent.

another option is to mark a spot on the side wall, in line with say the side mirror, if you have 5 or 6 inches to spare, you will get used to it, and it should work easily enough

I have the same issue although only about 3” total. Since I bought parking bumpers on Amazon I have had no issue parking. I used double sided tape to secure them and they work great. There is enough downward force from the tire once you’re on them that they don’t move at all.

The trick is to change height to entry so the height is always consistent and use a landmark on the camera to know when to stop but the bumpers keep you safe.

Might be easier to pull in instead of back in btw.

Isn’t the front camera as good as all this stuff?

Do you have the truck yet? This thing is quite large for the standard garage and the camera can be not forgiving in relative distance.

I do but I already have my M3 and my 73 Bronco in there so it has to be outside in the driveway so I don’t have first hand experience with this issue I just thought it works well when I’m pulling into a parking spot so might work good to see the front wall
