It would have been good to show how tight that spot was. Specifically, how much space on the other side?

I dont recommend it either. Tried to have it parallel park yesterday with PLENTY of room, and I had to disengage because it was about to drive foreward into the back of the car. I am convinced the front camera is not being used with Tesla Vision currently

I find this really hard to believe that auto park would even attempt to park in this spot. The OP is (don't know if purposefully) very vague about the whole thing. Smells like BS, backhandedly implying, without explicitly stating the facts, that auto park hit something. Did it? Was auto park engaged? Or is this a pic of a tight parking spot?
I’ll give OP the benefit of doubt before writing him off completely. He just mentioned it so others can be cautious when using Park assist. We need to differentiate FUD posts Vs genuine ones! End of the day, most of us want the CT and FSD to be successful.

It's not, we know this, nor is it being used on FSD.

The question, is, why? After all this time, they finally release these features and are not using a camera that could offer tremendous value to Tesla Vision?

Something tells me the front camera is a "dumb" camera that literally just provides a video link into the cabin, and that's it. No intelligent processing / data input for Tesla Vision which would be extremely stupid imo, but we'll see.

Yeah... I have to admit... I tried the autpark and it was clunky at best. Where I can back into a spot in one felled swoop, I tried it on a relatively open spot and it did multiple point turns to get in. It felt abrupt and clunky. It also took multiple pull forwards and recenters to get it perfectly between the lines. In the end, it parked perfectly, but it took a lot to get there. What is interesting is the FSD is pretty smooth... so I don't know why they couldn't get this more right. I do a lot of AI development and training. IMHO, this one they certainly could have trained better to be a better experience. There is no reason why they couldn't get this thing to back in perfectly on the first try. They definitely need more training on this.

Thanks, yeah. Sorry for the brevity. I posted this on the fly as soon as it happened. It actually worked two other times in the same tight spot but then that last time, it failed. I’m lucky that it didn’t do visible damage to my CT but It’sa lesson learned that I cannot fully trust this yet. It was also parking surprisingly fast. Enough so that I could not stop it fast enough.
